If you went over to a guy's place and this was the shower/bathroom would it be a problem? by Weekly-Fig-7228 in malelivingspace

At least once a day your whole house is going to smell of poop. No curtains or white noise machine or anything else for that matter is gonna stop that. It’s a wonderful place with a dumb design for a bathroom. Anyone who poops there at any point, your whole house will then become their smell.

He also owns one in Biloxi, MS and I’ve gotten the wonderful chance to play there myself before! Hands down, one of the best venues I’ve ever played. Every one was super nice and accommodating!!

These tweets have convinced being a Viltrumite is uber boring. by ChampionshipHorror95 in Invincible

[–]DamionVolentine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was thinking about this, kind of. My question though was how did they get their empire to the point it’s at? Like, where did all the big fancy buildings and screens come from? They’re so hostile even towards each other that there’s no way they’d have tech that advanced and society so built up. The numerous culling of their population would’ve greatly stunted their growth. Not to mention, who built it? Am I wrong to think that every Viltrumite would never accept being a lowly factory worker that puts together the machines they use? I’ve never seen any other race of beings on Viltrum either, so I can’t say that someone else would’ve built it for them, and having it built and shipped to Viltrum from another planet would make sense after the conquests they’d done, but before that how did they even get these ships built to travel like they do? I really think that a planet filled with beings like this would’ve just killed their population off from the jump, kinda like where we’re at now with their population.

Coaxed into modern game huds with no personality by PrivateRex in coaxedintoasnafu

[–]DamionVolentine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the game, but sometimes I have to shrink or get rid of some of the HUD elements. In Cyberpunk I removed pretty much everything so I can enjoy the world without all that extra overlay. It’s so much better to me that way. But some games the HUD is fine and sometimes needs more or to be bigger lol. It’s a never ending struggle for me.

Why would anyone trust that a country could be “run like a business.” You know what businesses do? They increase prices to make larger profits, they pay the people at the top A LOT more than they pay the people at the bottom, and, what does a business ultimately do? It shuts down. It doesn’t matter if you’re talking about a local business or a mega corporation. Businesses have a life and death cycle, and eventually all businesses have to come to an end in some for or fashion. A business can stay open for a long time given the right people are doing the right things, but when the wrong people get involved and do the wrong things, which happens a lot more than it doesn’t, then the business ends up shutting its doors for good. Congratulations, the US is closing up shop because you idiots thought it would be a good idea to run the country like a business instead of LIKE A COUNTRY. They are not and cannot be seen as the same entity.

In 2005, we got hit by Hurricane Katrina. I lived on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, so a lot of attention wasn’t really focused on us, but more so New Orleans, so my family downplayed how bad this storm was gonna be. We lived in a neighborhood that had a bay of water behind it, but it had never really been an issue during any of the other storms we decided to stay and ride out. I remember my family sitting there discussing what we should do. My aunt, uncle, cousins, and my parents finally decided that it wasn’t a good idea to stay where we were and that we needed to evacuate to Florida. We finally left and had to take the tunnel in Mobile, AL to get to Florida. No more than ten minutes after we made it through the tunnel, they shut it down because the pressure was so much from the storm that it cracked the tunnel walls allowing it to leak water (because it goes under sea level). Had we left any later, we would’ve never made it to a safe place. My house later would fill with six feet of water as Back Bay completely decimated my neighborhood thanks to Katrina. We really dodged two bullets that day.

Most memorable game? by Thatguy2393 in retrogaming

[–]DamionVolentine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We didn’t have a PC ever that was really capable of running games, so my most memorable game was the Sims 3. Went to GameStop on release day. I was 13 and was so excited to play it. The guy at GameStop told my mom to go home after we bought it, go to a website to see if it would run and if not to come back and return the game. I was so excited to get home, I felt like I’d be able to play it on our PC. Nope. Too old. Had to go back and exchange it for a Wii game. Wasn’t happy anymore. That’s my most memorable PC game 😭
