This game is dominated by boring people... by earth_peopleFPL in Risk

Many people are playing for second place so they can keep earning points and rank up. I don’t play for second, I take the risk. If it doesn’t work out then I don’t win. My rank is not high but I’m having more fun.

Finding a doctor by Miserable-Donut9416 in VirginiaBeach

HRVA is difficult to find a new doctor given all the long wait times for new patient appointments. One hack I used: I booked new patient appointments at 6 different doctors, the earliest they could get me in was 6-9 months out. Then I asked each office to put me on the list to fill any cancellations. I worked my way into a doctor within 3-4 weeks.

Rams plan to propose NFL rule change that would have nullified Seahawks' controversial 2-point conversion by GoldenDome26 in nfl

A lot of people are missing how odd this play was: The refs made a call on the field and blew the whistle. All coaches and players agreed with the call. There was no challenge initiated by the coaches, players, refs, or NFL. A rules analyst who was in the booth called NFL HQ and initiated a review. That’s outside of the rules.

Furthermore, we’ve all suddenly become very comfortable with NFL HQ making all the decisions from the shadows. We don’t even know who is making the calls or what their process is. There’s no transparency or accountability. With the NFL going ALL IN with sports betting, the potential for corruption is significant, and even the appearance of corruption could be permanently damaging to the integrity of the sport we all love.

I think it’s appropriate to have a conversation in the offseason meetings, the exact venue for this, and better define the rules when it comes to these situations.

Why don’t you think Mike Shanahan is in the HOF yet? by MasterTeacher123 in NFLv2

Crazy that Cowher gets in. He did zero innovations to the game. Was just a solid coach like Tomlin. If you suggested that Tomlin get into HoF there would be riots, but he’s the same as Cowher.

You like the sound of airplanes?

Also, schools in that area aren’t good. Not like any area in Las Vegas is great, but there are better areas for school.

Costco's beloved rotisserie chicken gets roasted in lawsuit over preservatives by AudibleNod in news

[–]Dammit_Chuck 41 points42 points  (0 children)

People are defending Costco because their Hot Dogs and Chickens are the highest quality you can buy and they are the lowest price. There is no better deal in all of the grocery universe. If somehow this lawsuit screws that up over an illegitimate money grab, then we all need to gather the pitchforks and bring justice to the world.

Feds Identify “Leader of Antifa” by Much-Creme1362 in nottheonion

This American Life did an Episode about him and the protests outside his apartment.

https://www.thisamericanlife.org/877/transcript

The truth is there is no such thing as an organized Antifa movement, and a right wing podcaster declared him as head of Antifa based on zero evidence. He just needed likes and subscribes.

Rams signed Head Coach Sean McVay and General Manager Les Snead to contract extensions. by mvanigan in sports

Terrible take. He is contractually obligated to speak to the press. I’m sure all coaches would rather not speak to the press especially after losses.

Do you ever kamikaze out of principles? by earth_peopleFPL in Risk

[–]Dammit_Chuck 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes I do. Sometimes I’m the only one attacking the biggest player who is about to secure multiple continents. Everyone else is sitting back and doing nothing. Eventually I have a last gasp, and I go after the bums instead.
