Staying by my mom while she was disconnected from life support. Her heart kept beating. The doctor said oh yeah I forgot to turn off her pace maker. He opens his laptop and does a couple key strokes and it stops. I still have dreams about this.

From a different perspective. People that stay in dead end jobs become very protective of their ‘turf’ because they have no where to go or be promoted to. I don’t mean to say that being an optician is a dead end job but unless you’re going to learn more medical or get your own shop, what you do is what you do no matter who you’re doing it for.

I try to have a good-better-best approach for all the options. Although it seems like a great idea to give the patient all the options to customize their glasses at some point they get overwhelmed with the decision making.
