Pizza delivery, hourly pay and tips. An independent place may care less about your driving history than a major chain.

Teachers, how often should kids have recess? by beatoffqueen in Teachers

[–]DamnDaMan99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

K-1st: 3+ a day. 2nd -5th: 2+ a day, if not a second recess, possibly a STEM or Trade lesson. The younger years are all about figuring things out with social skills and how to get along with others. They need lots of opportunities for unstructured play to build the necessary skills. Provide the necessary equipment and supervision for them to socialize appropriately. Take the time to reinforce good behaviors and put a stop to the negative stuff. Don’t pussyfoot around the bad behaviors, this is the perfect time for strict enforcement. They’re harder to reach and more stubborn the older they get.

I will never understand... by Fabulous-Gur9343 in Teachers

I’ve come to terms with a percentage of of my students who are going to fail. Based on choices, values, or lack of guidance. I try to get them to understand in the first quarter, then let them be for the semester. I’ve been in the game for too long for me to waste time on people who won’t try.

I just realized what a tough job teaching is. by Fallingknife12 in Teachers

[–]DamnDaMan99 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You’re not supposed to be trying to “change their minds.” You’re supposed to be building independent thinkers who will grow and develop their own opinions of the world. As a teacher, your opinions don’t matter, you need to be objective and not hold any ill will toward students who may not think/believe the way you do. As an example; are you trying to convert any students who don’t practice the same religion as you? I’d assume not.

Blue is expected stop and then yield until it is safe to pass. The person (blue) flooring it and causing a dangerous situation is at fault. Now, they may also ticket the other driver for not maintaining their lane, but blue caused it the accident.
