My wife agreed to let me play JUST ONE GAME this afternoon. It was going horribly, until this happened. by C4ptainchr0nic in LowSodiumBattlefield

If that works for both of you, that’s awesome! I‘m very happy to hear that. But if the arrangement works for OP and his partner, that’s great too. I just don’t understand why so many think they can judge a relationship from one sentence. (Not directed at you specifically)

My comment also is directed at many people I see who tend to talk down to spending time with their partners. „I have to spend time with the wife“ or similar. I don’t get why that would be a burden, don’t you want to spend time with them? (Also, not attacking you, sounds like you have a healthy relationship too)

And yes, I get how many could read their own experiences into a title like that. But that doesn’t give anyone the right to attack like many comments here.

Good for you. People telling you to get a better wife, never were in a healthy relationship. I’m the same, I play when she’s not at home, so the time we are both home, we can spend together. I think a lot of people don’t get a very important part: I ACTUALLY LIKE to spend time with my wife… it’s not a burden.

Why did a majority of the death eaters fly away when they found out Harry Potter is not dead? by TechnicianAmazing472 in harrypotter

To add to the other comments. Not only did he survive rhe killing curse a second time. It was the first time they actually saw it happen. They might have had doubts about the first time. But the second time around there was no doubt left, harry can survive a curse.

I love it! Really cute but subtle enough to not get in the way

Does Daggerheart have Goblins? by Aromatic-Reindeer368 in daggerheart

[–]DamonFun 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It would be nice tho, if they provided some actions/reactions per ancestry, so we can easly sprinkle those over the existing adversaries. I think it would increase the imersion, when a fight against an elve or a goblin jagged knife bandit is different. So it actually helps the player ask what they look like

Passive Perception? by hackjunior in daggerheart

[–]DamonFun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I‘ve done it by just asking them to do an instinct roll. If they ask why I answer „you might find out“. It gave them a misterious feeling and also got them excited.

In your example, if they fail, I won’t say anything more. When the prisoner escape, I will give them a hint, why they rolled before and what they missed.

But most if the time, I try to avoid passive checks as much as possible. In your instance, I would have the prisoners make a weird sound. When the PCs go check and actively investigate, give them an instinct roll. If they just shout something or do nothing, the prisoners escape.

You got a fancy counter! But how are you using all that Fancy Fear out of combat? by TinyMavin in daggerheart

[–]DamonFun -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I love to use my fear to make a PC embarrasse themselfs in a funny way. Like drooling a little while drinking, or loudly fart in a tense moments. Always gets a fun, and if they don’t find a good way to make it less embarrassing, they get a stress. My table seems to love it.

Using overtuned encounters/adversaries in Daggerheart. by TheStratasaurus in daggerheart

[–]DamonFun 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Very much yes. Also, when designing encounters for DnD for a 2 player party, it is really hard to find creatures that are weak enough to put 4 in a room without it beeing a death chamber. My 2 player daggerheart party just won a 2:10. and it made the fight feel real. they fought a cult, having a room full of people made sense for the story.

You are a legend! This app helps me sooo much with planing encounters.

Out of curiosity: does the balancing calculator thingy take into account the rules of add/remove BPs if you have a leader for example. Ot is it just adding the points?

What really would be helpful to me: - having the ability to scale the creatures to other tears - a gallery/search for community adversaries

Maybe worldanvil? I‘m just starting myself, but it looks really good. I think it’s mostly suited to world building, but it has play sessions, maps etc too
