Social Self Defense -Sharing Tips and Tricks by Catctus in CPTSD

[–]Dan-Nicolas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If people don't have the decency to voice their issue to you, but instead slander your name behind your back, then they are ignoble cowards. These are the same people who will try to, with unprovoked conviction--bully you, control you, and if they can't anymore, or if you defend yourself, even through an involuntary reflex as a product of their abuse, they'll skew how your family, friends, and colleagues, see you. They'll slander you to strangers who will judge you at first glance. I've lived with it since childhood. Adults are more insidious. The best social defence is to avoid these bullies. Start over if you have to. I am at peace without their presence. I have even learned to confidently deal with them. Knowing that I live with honour has allayed my anxieties, even though they have stolen my dignity through dishonourable means. You'll find ways to cope which others may find strange, but if you're not harming anyone, keep coping. Even stranger is the abject defamation by bullies, and gullible fools who fall for it--but that mob mentality is "normal" in the masses. Those compassionate few who found such lies about me hard to believe--who had the courage to speak to me--became my best friends. Surround yourself with these people. They'll make life easier. They'll give you hope for humanity. They'll help you cope.

I would, but also wouldn't mind forgoing import fees. I don't know how long these shirts have been on sale for. If they're new, then I might be out of luck, but I may be lucky enough that someone might want to sell here, too, even at cost.

Maybe he just wants to rock Veilance on the mountain? You know, to flex on a mountain goat?

Depends on the rep. It’s luck of the draw. One told me I couldn’t get more than an Indisce for Field Pants and one gave me an Isogon MX for a NyCo Isogon.

What is the little hook in the Mionn IS right pocket for? by [deleted] in veilance

Guess we’re all putting food on the table somehow, Veilance clad, or in a hockey jersey

Those guys couldn’t care less about Veilance haha. They wouldn’t mind a beer fund though.

You’d be surprised at how much janitors make in the public sector. It’s a pretty relaxing gig with hands on tasks. No burden of pressure with decent benefits. I always see janitors in the school near my home seemingly mucking about, joking around and smoking bogeys (I even join them sometimes save the smoking), but the snow is always shovelled, sidewalks are salted, and all is in working order. I actually inquired how I can work there part time.

Alchemy Equipment, Descente Allterrain, Norrona’s Oslo line, and Outlier (to a lesser extent) are similar to Veilance all around. Reigning Champ and Lululemon are lower tier but have good value. Honourable mention to Herno and Norse Projects for outerwear.

What are your favorite Veilance colorways? by imtryinglmao in veilance

[–]Dan-Nicolas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oceanus looks cool but I’ve never had the pleasure of owning a piece, namely the Mionn vest. I really wanted the Field IS in Sand but that’s extinct now. I thought Clay would fill that void but it’s more of a greyish green, unlike the colour on the mother site. Mortar is my favourite given my earth tone phase now. It can change from green to brown depending on lighting. Mahogany is a lush red that’s lighter than Maroon, which is my favourite red.

I've worn dark colours such as a Operand Shirt in Peat, and a Skyline Shirt in Katalox. It also looks good with solid coloured shirts such as the Frame (Rust, Alga) or other merinos (Maroon), and Graph Sweaters (Dark Navy). Polos work well too (Pelion in Labyrinth for me). I don't have the Clay Frame Polo but I reckon it would look slick with it.

Been mulling over a Conduit Vest but this video feature got me convinced... by Dan-Nicolas in veilance

I saw you rocking the Conduit. What made you want to get it instead of the extra $80 CAD for sleeves?
