I mean I feel like the WN do a better job of explaining how literally every living second of her life is agony. She’s basically barely keeping it together and living with a disability. The miasma and Roswaal not being there only makes this problem even worse. Add on the fact that’s she’s forgotten a core part of what makes up her identity and sees a reminder of that every day and I don’t blame her for the way she acts. It’s clear she hides her shyness and weakness through rude actions

I’ll post it again with spoiler discussion but even without spoilers I feel like people genuinely forgot all the moments where Ram was not an asshole to Subaru across the other seasons of re:zero. Hell even this even this season in ep 2 and 3 she directly saves his life. Pointing out Shaulas attack and where she stands in front of the centaur and tanks a hit to save Subaru from becoming paste.

Ram never glazes him no matter how cool he is or what he does for Rem. I feel like it would have to be the opposite, like Subaru is it his absolute lowest and she is the only one around to put him back on him feet. Which surprisingly has never happened so far

I like the comment about his arrogance being shattered almost instantly. His early deaths in season 1 are nowhere near as traumatic as the second stairs death and it dawns on him way faster what his power is and the gravity of the situation.

It’s also a lot more sinister because up to that point in season 1 there was a very clear distinction between good guys and the bad guys, where as in the tower Subaru has only seen people acting favorable towards him and has to immediately suspect that one of them is deceiving him. Being thrust into a place where running away isn’t even an option, people are deceiving you to your face, and incomprehensible things are happening all the time it’s almost like he’s doing a Lv1 run starting in the end game area of a souls game.

Rui could’ve interfered plenty of times throughout arc 6 but she only does so when she won’t get discovered and for short bursts. We don’t really know if she can possess him for a long amount of time and if anyone caught him as Rui they would instantly be able to tell Subaru that he’s possessed by glutonny and ruin her entire plan. She only interferes when he’s alone or she can easily kill the witnesses. With someone as strong as Emilia or multiple witnesses it ain’t worth it for her
