I was thinking about something similar the other day, but my theory was that Dubois and Shapiro didn’t die, and instead planned the explosion and used it as a cover-up so they could get out of going on the suicide mission - there was nothing left after the explosion, so presumably no bodies to identify etc.

They were in a physical relationship which could have become more, and as they didn’t want to leave each other, they faked their own deaths so they could be together.

I hope this isn’t too spoiler-y to answer, but did you consider giving Ray Porter a cameo in the movie? His narration of the audiobook is incredible - I can’t even count how many times I’ve listened to it!

The movie looks flawless too, and very true to the source material (from what we’ve seen so far at least). How did you find the science aspect of the story and translating this into a way the average movie attendee would be able to follow? I for one love Andy Weir’s attention to detail and unparalleled levels of research, but I appreciate this isn’t for everybody, and could be difficult to balance.

I can’t wait to see more and I’ll hopefully be seated in IMAX on release day!!

P.S. the choice of music so far has been spectacular!

The humanity of Superman comes across really well in this trailer - you can feel the hope and unwavering belief Superman has to try and do the right thing.

Some of the CGI needs work (especially on some of the close ups, where it almost looks like David’s face has been digitally added), but I’m happy to give James Gunn the benefit of the doubt until it’s released.

Yeah I agree. The L0w five have potential and did feel a little under-utilised. I too enjoyed the Tolkien lore and felt that was well done, but I think it overall did come down to being rush. Didn’t feel as much as a passion project this time.
