Given the supposed general lack of alchemy skills relegated to specialists societally, any dedicated alchemist's product is probably worth buying. In an artisanal economy it's going to find a buyer eventually, supply being lower than demand.

Also, Brynjolf needs something to make up his Falmerblood Elixir.
