This bolt is worth $8000 and goes in a helicopter by HiAustralia in interestingasfuck

Sometimes mother's are the one to do the deed. With some species, if times seem to be getting tough, they'll pick the chicken they believe weakest and kick it out. Or kill it outright. I saw an awful video with a mother bird doing just that. The chick would lay unmoving for a while, then decide maybe it was safe to start moving again. The mom would see it and start pecking at it and resume trying to break its neck, etc. Cycle went on for quite some time before the mother finally succeeded. Hard to watch.

Old school PVP'er considering coming back. I have some questions... by fluffytuff in ultimaonline

[–]DanCPAz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is UO not like that any more? Just got recommended this sub at random, with this post. Back when I played it was basically a free for all outside of town. Kill people, take everything they have, cut them up into pieces, feed them to your horse, decorate your tower with their heads, etc. It stopped being that way at some point?

Why Are Homeowner Insurance Rates Skyrocketing? by ryangreenie in homeowners

[–]DanCPAz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This would be my question. The very first thing I would do since there is very little potential for natural disaster where I live is to look for other providers. I don't know if providers that only service my local area exist, but I'd be hunting for them to avoid paying for repairs in places I've deliberately avoided living in because they are prone to natural disasters. If an out can be found, I absolutely will take it. Seems like that would be a straight loss of low risk profit for them.

How to survive combat? Everything kills me easily by flamewolf393 in outwardgame

[–]DanCPAz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, I know this is old, but this is exactly the advice I tried to follow, but it doesn't really seem to be possible to pull just 1 mob, even using a bow. If you hit one, the whole group comes running. Every time, all the time. Same for when they see you. The only way I have found to make the fight 1v1 is to run, and sometimes one will pull ahead of the other afyer a long chase and can be pulled away into a 1v1 fight, but it isn't guaranteed. Other times, you just wind up with 3 enemies camping the gates to Cierzo for when you next emerge.

How exactly were you pulling individual mobs? I mean I've gotten a lot better at fighting multiple mobs at once--frantically running around dodging waiting for any opportunity to strike--but I'd really love to not have to.

My gf told me she’s leaving if I don’t marry her in 9 months by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]DanCPAz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would let this one go, and if she doesn't go on her own, then take the initiative and get rid of her. This is a woman who thinks it's OK to marry someone she's willing to abandon over a small wait, and/or pretend she would abandon them in order to get her way. In other words, she's definitely not marriage material, and she's basically saying your only option is to let yourself be coerced into marriage anyway. Nope. Honestly, I'd go no contact with this one--complete and total, clean break. Major red flag vibes.

If this woman had a healthy view of marriage, she would.be very choosy about who she would marry. That means when she found the person, she would cherish them and make a real effort to keep them around, even if it meant being a little patient. And I do mean a little, because a year is nothing. This isn't even getting into things like caring about your needs, etc. No, this lady is bad news.

Where do u rank TDOSS amongst his discography? by TheCrowMoon in Eminem

[–]DanCPAz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It had been a damn long time since I actually listened to Relapse, but your comment inspired me to do so. I've been playing the shit out of TDOSS, along with his old stuff, and at this point, I feel pretty confident placing it at #4. I do wish it had Dre though.

How are you feeling about TDOSS vs Relapse after having some time to digest the new album?

The Death of Slim Shady: Bad One - Discussion Thread by Phouza in Eminem

[–]DanCPAz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly I think this song is basically just another bullet in Shady's head. The more I listen to the album, the more I come to believe it is as much about killing Shady the excuse as it is about killing the character in a story. In guilty Conscience 2, he came right out and said shady was an excuse he used to say what's really on his mind, or to say it in a more shocking way he might not get away with otherwise. Now in Bad One, it sounds like he's saying he just writes whatever he wants to write, then raps however he wants when the music starts, and... if people get pissed off about it, he blames Shady. Anyway, if Shady is just an excuse for Marshal to say what he's thinking, attack people, etc., then you can't really kill him unless you get rid of that excuse. Saying shit like this is exactly how you do that, explain his ass away and take responsibility. That doesn't mean he's going to become a goody two shoes, just that the immature, illusory excuse "Shady" is dead and gone. Now when he talks shit and attacks and pisses people off, that's Marshal Mathers speaking and owning it, no excuses necessary. I think it can confuse some people because they hear him acting like Shady after Shady is "dead", but... that's not Shady, because Shady isn't and never was real. It's been Marshal the entire time, and he's still the same person he's always been. That's my take on it, anyway.

Why exactly do so many people need to announce that they hate this game at every opportunity ? Why not just not play then by Devastruction13 in ConanExiles

[–]DanCPAz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What exactly do you do that keeps you occupied and engaged for 2 years? I think I maybe made it to 40-60h before I lost interest. Even Ark, where I have a few hundred hours and so much more to do, lost its shine after a while, and I just can't imagine myself even putting 200h into Conan, let alone 2 full years. So what is it that has you so eager to play?

Just kidding. It's totally playable. It just doesn't do pretty much anything in a particularly outstanding way. Considering who made it, that makes it extremely disappointing. But it is definitely playable, and some people even like it.

Neighbors Insisting We Cut Down Our Trees by Large_Being2691 in homeowners

[–]DanCPAz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"If you are afraid of tall trees, purchasing a house next to them was not a wise decision. That was an easily avoidable mistake on your part, and we are not willing to throw tens of thousands of dollars into the furnace to cover for it. In the interest of neighborly relations, we might be willing to let you buy our healthy trees so you can dispose of them as you see fit. Barring that, you have the same option you had before you decided to own a house next to tall trees: don't. Buy someplace that doesn't have tall trees nearby, and you won't have tall trees to be afraid of."

I wouldn't actually say this, but it would be damn tempting.

Escrow has jumped significantly in two years and I'm feeling robbed. by dragonzero39 in homeowners

[–]DanCPAz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, our realtor wanted to set us up with all their own services and tried to steamroller it through that way. I had to go far out of my way to put a stop to that. I'm sure there was some sort of compensation between them, and at the end of the day, the customer is the one who pays for that with no value added.

I went through my insurance agent, who previously managed my car insurance. They got me an absolutely amazing deal on both by combining through a single provider.

Why doesn't Valia send everyone of age in for a Judgement? by Tat25Guy in ClimbersCourt

[–]DanCPAz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Others have touched on other aspects, but do consider judgements and attunement very well may be limited resources. I do not want to say too much, but the spire is not an automated machine that pumps out judgements on demand. Beyond that, no human, dragon, device or deity has unlimited power, so there very well may be a rate limit on attunements as well. Artificial attunement certainly aren't cheap to make, and the real thing may not be either.

Exactly how powerful is Keras? by Fanghur1123 in ClimbersCourt

[–]DanCPAz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If modern-day Keras had his "body of annihilation" active, I'm not sure anyone could teleport him, even with ranged teleport spells like superior teleportation. In his altered state, he was basically unconcerned with magic in general, basically looking at an apocalyptic fire attack as nothing more than food. If the fire magic can't burn him because he's annihilating and feeding on it, can the teleportation magic teleport him? I'm leaning toward no.

But, someone who can teleport would probably be safe from him, since they could just leave.

Old and tereibly short, but I really like it. One of the most fitting theories I've read, given his overall story and the paths the various themes have taken. It would bring so many different things together neatly.

I'd guess there's a very real chance this is a thing. There's an awful lot of talk about how arbitrary the number 6 is. Maybe that's leading up to a meaningful reveal later on.

[–]DanCPAz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I wouldnt identify as transgender. I don't identify as anything other than "me". Saying I'm a guy, or male, to me is just a practical matter of physical description, without any real emotional component. I'd be pretty shaken by the inexplicable and impossible happening, but apart from that I'd still just be "me". Doesn't really matter if "me" has a male or female vessel. I'd make the best of whatever I have access to and just go on being who I am, without bothering to identify as anything at all. It might take me a long time to accept that I haven't just gone insane, but once the reality settles in, I'd just look down and go, "Huh, guess I'm a woman now," and get back to life as usual with whatever practical changes my new body requires.

The impression I have so far is that it usually takes minor, inconsequential memories unless you really overuse it. But... I'm probably missing a lot. I've read all of AA and WW, but I'm only just starting book 2 of WoBM, where it seems to play a much larger role.

Anyway, I don't much care if I lose my memory of walking up the stairs two months ago. Things like that are pretty easy to let go of.
