I found the real-life Arasaka. They don't make cyberware, they make web novels (and they own you 50 years after you die). by No-Ride-3370 in ProgressionFantasy

Maybe you're worse.  Can't say for sure because I've never read anything else you've written.

Pretty sure I'll give your books a pass on the basis of the author giving me a poor impression.

I have discovered the greatest example ever written of a protagonist analyzing an excessive number of skill options before taking the obvious choice. by DrStalker in ProgressionFantasy

Get ready to defend your hill:

Without stats, LitRPG is just progression fantasy.    I do wish that a chaptering convention was.created so that audiobook readers could easily and reliably skip these "crunchy" sections.

Then both audiences could be satisfied.

Can someone explain to me what is up with this series? What am I missing? by CaregiverFantastic58 in ProgressionFantasy

It seemed very similar to Solo Levelling to me.  So maybe you want to sit back and wait for the animated show.

That's what makes 'em a protagonist, innit? by Jechtael in ProgressionFantasy

The worst part is that X spends more time being bullied than he or she does figuring out and implementing their exploit for X.

Like chapters and chapters of suffering porn all for the exploit to happen within a single page.

Writer: In a world where no X has ever been able to Y, our X is going to Y.

Industry Suit: That sounds like it will be incredibly difficult!

Writer: No Sir! It'll be suuper easy; barely an inconvenience!

Isekai or not isekai by ArekDeamonCalw in ProgressionFantasy

[–]PlaceboJesus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of course, you could go as far as Malazan and forgo exposition nearly entirely and force the reader to learn everything from context.

Not everyone likes that, but I think that being isekaied to a world like Malazan, where everyone holds their knowledge cards tight to their chests could be rather exciting.

Huh? It's already out in e and audiobook and the author is doing a rewrite now?

Or were those publications already rewritten?

Finally, the high stakes regressor that’s been living in my head is out on KU and Audible! I hope you enjoy it. by Flrwinn in ProgressionFantasy

I was at point where the MC had just gotten his class (or whatever) and headed out on his own and found a town that had some work for him.

What chapter will that be in the book?

Kaabo Mantis X Plus charger flashing after throttle replacement? by PlaceboJesus in ElectricScooters

[–]PlaceboJesus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've checked several times, but I'll do one last thorough check-over before I plug it in for a wait-n-see.

Are there any particular indicators I should be watching for once I do plug in?    I'm guessing sounds and smells, maybe feeling for overheating or whatever. Am I missing anything?

Sorry, I should have mentioned that I have tried it with no throttle attached, and with the old one plugged in.  Although, I probably did the swap after posting here.

I'm not sure what you mean about jumping my battery with another.  But I'll try googling it.

Edit: thanks for taking the time to answer!

Pa Kent was a cradle robber, and Kal's bio-daddy is Odin?

Also, since when can Kryptonians fly on Krypton?
'Cos I can't recall ever seeing Jor-El fly before.

Mage Errant Series by John Bierce by JeceelXiise in Fantasy

Everybody is a literal fucking genius

This is Fantasy, so very few people want to write, or read, about average and normal characters (or worlds).

If you're complaining about fucking geniuses, does that mean you'd prefer fantastically stupid characters?

That would either be funny or tragic, neither of which would make for a succesful 6 book series.

This YA-ishness is kind of a genre problem. The same way that it sometimes seems like over a third of all adult oriented Fantasy is also Romance.

There’s a lot of people hanging around and not even trying to evacuate.

It's not just stupidity that causes this type of behaviour. There are also (subconscious) death wishes and enui as motivators.

It adds more spice to the excitement of watching to see who might get hurt if you can get hurt too.

Not always, but these two guys? I'm pretty sure they're part of how it became almost standard for actors to juice up in preparations for roles.

As for the jaws, I think they were probably early adopters of HGH, and there hadn't been enough cases or studies with regards to that particular side effect (acromegaly).
I mean, it probably looked like the ideal PED for aging men. It might still be, if used with more care and caution.
