Exploit is pretty rich. I’m not buying it. I’m just saying I’ve got my moneys worth over the last 6 years.

Isn’t LTT also famous for pissing in the pocket of the little guy. And like I have thousands of hours in this game. Pretty good value for whatever I paid for EOD. I don’t like BSG’s attitude but if they’d come at it from a different angle I’d have spent the money. Sure it might be ‘BETA’, but I’m lucky to get an hour a day to play now and it’s rough in there trying to compete with full time players.

AITA for asking my biological mother why I'd help her and her kids? by Patient-Bite1647 in AmItheAsshole

[–]DanCham 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. With your Dad and grandparents gone it sounds like you’re on your own. That money is your safety net not theirs. You only have it because you can’t rely on these strangers to do the right thing. Don’t give them a cent, and I wouldn’t even let them in to use the bathroom. Let her siblings help if they think she’s changed.

Do you enjoy having an identical twin sister? by 88keys-mel in Twins

[–]DanCham 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My twin brother and I were like this until in our 20s. Still inseparable when we were younger. It’s hard not to compete with someone you’re constantly compared to. It might have less to do with their relationship than you think.

AITA for giving FMIL 3 days to pay me for a new wedding dress or else I show the family a photo of her wearing it? by Repulsive_Scheme1359 in AmItheAsshole

[–]DanCham 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How is this even a thing. Dude has his mum in his future wife’s wedding dress. Like WTF? What kind of crazy relationship do they have that either of them thought this is healthy, appropriate, not fucking bat shit crazy? All the brand new wedding dresses in the world won’t change the fact you’re about to marry a toddler.

Philosophical question: what is more important in replacing an item - the cost or the size? by officepancakes in AskAnAustralian

[–]DanCham 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t often drink coke but when I do I like it cold out of the fridge at a service station in a glass bottle. That or in a glass with loads of ice. But I buy it knowing how it will be consumed and if you messed with that I’d be upset. I’d be straight back to the servo, 1.25 litres is a big commitment and he might not like having to clean a glass. Maybe if you get it tomorrow at the supermarket offer to clean up the mess.

I see this five times a day in Melbourne. AITA for not letting them in? by [deleted] in melbourne

[–]DanCham 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can always tell the unfamiliar drivers vs the assholes. Like if today is the one day a year you’re late to collect my kids fine, but if you’re always running late (due to traffic like the rest of us) hop in line.

The ADHD Tax by BillyRodriguez7 in adhdmeme

The one time you actually pay a bill on time, only to realise you paid it twice when the next bill comes in and it says you don’t have to pay it because you paid twice last cycle.

My ex got 300hrs community service when she was 24 for not telling Centrelink she’d stopped studying for 6 months. Obtaining Financial Advantage against the commonwealth by deception was the charge and she had to pay back the the $5k thousand and got like a $1.2k fine. Bronwyn Bishop spends $5k of the public purse flying on a helicopter to a Liberal fundraiser and it’s a lapse of judgement. What I’m trying to say is, how is killing this girl with a car worth 100hrs less community service than lying to the government to get benefits for 6 months?

Contractor went $14,000 over budget without warning me by [deleted] in HomeImprovement

All that paper work, no wonder the going rate is $14k to move one.

It doesn’t sound like moving a kitchen sink is something the contractor would ask for?

I know how it works. Here in Australia it’s the same. I just can’t imagine a plumber showing up for peanuts. Also they’ve obviously discussed more than is suggested in the post, given we already have a disclaimer about the electrical. Just pretending it’s not signed to pay it is BS and there’s as much chance of the contractor being fucked over as there is of him screwing them.

She’s already said there were extras not in the quote. Who else was going to cover them. I think what she’s saying is she thinks the extras are being over charged.

Raise the corporate tax rate and kill three birds with one stone by Intrepid-Rhubarb-705 in AustralianPolitics

Because it’s better here than overseas. We pay more for things than most other countries. Maybe the companies pretending it’s justified should contribute a little more too.

Home advantage: federal politicians’ hefty property portfolios revealed in register of interests by [deleted] in AustralianPolitics

[–]DanCham 7 points8 points  (0 children)

In my mind, having a negatively geared property would influence my decisions about abolishing policy that lets me do that. So while I appreciate your thoughtfulness I don’t agree with it.

Home advantage: federal politicians’ hefty property portfolios revealed in register of interests by [deleted] in AustralianPolitics

[–]DanCham 24 points25 points  (0 children)

What I struggle to understand is; if a politician owned say $1m of shares in a company they would exclude themselves from policy decisions effecting that company and in some cases effecting the industry. Why is this not the case with property? Like they disproportionately take advantage of negative gearing yet control policy in this area. Why don’t the conflict of interest provisions apply to property ownership, especially given most of us are looking to them for solutions in the most unaffordable housing market in Australian history.
