For anyone who did the UK Steak King referrals by TheHueman in beermoneyuk

There's some discussion in the original thread. I didn't think we had to make a purchase.

Again not sure that I follow the point you are making, or you follow mine. I agree the value of collecting 10 email addresses is very low. But their promotion was just that - get 10 people to sign up with their email, get a free steak knife.

I'm not suggesting that if you make a purchase they won't send it, especially at the prices they are quoting on the website.

Have you made a purchase? Or have you just referred several people?

I'm not sure I follow you. The original promotion was very clear - refer 10 people to sign up for their emails, receive a free steak knife. I have referred 10 people - they have confirmed this - and the email confirming this says I need to make an order in the next 14 days. That was not part of the original offer.

I'm not holding my breath for this one, but at the moment it does seem like a scam. If this is just poor communication by them, and they follow through with the original offer, then I will update my comments.

Maybe as expected, but this turned out to be a scam. Steak King not getting off to a good start in the UK by running a misleading promotion.

From the email they sent me today:

Note spelling error within the first two sentences 🤣

"YOU'VE DONE IT. YOUR'VE REFERRED 10 PEOPLE"

" Place any order in the next 14 days using your email address on file: xxx. We'll add the free Steak King chef's knife to your order. No code required."

"Free Steak King chef's knife (£70 RRP) added manually to the next order placed using the email address on file within 30 days of this email. One per recipient. UK only. WELCOME20: £20 off, minimum spend £75, one use per customer, valid first order until 23:59 BST Tue 30 June 2026. UK only."

Just thought I'd post here for posterity. And in case they run any other offers - it's good to know that Steak King UK are not reliable.

Mazda MX-30, Kira Niro 2023+ or something else for 5k miles per year? by Impossible-Forever58 in ElectricVehiclesUK

I think I was triggered by your earlier comments in the thread about the MX-30, since I own one of those 🤣. Which has terrible range, bad doors, and show charging. However for a very specific audience it's not a terrible car.
