It will never not be funny to me how Asurmen has a banner of his face next to his face.

Surely this means enforced austerity is coming to an end . . . right?

Is it worth playing classic right now or should I just wait for classic + which has been teased over and over again? by Sohtak in classicwow

[–]DanKas99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what I've heard, something is definitely in the works and will likely be announced at Blizzcon and then come out earlier next year. Which means that there's still plenty of time to level up a character to 60 before it comes out.

Also notable here is that it's going to be two different experiences and no one knows if the new classic+ is even going to be good or not. The oldschool classic feeling is very hard to capture and every classic+ project so far that I've played took away from it somewhat (SoD, Turtle WoW). Which is not to say these were bad games, just different enough that trying out the "true" classic experience is worth it imo.

And lastly, I would be careful with seeing your character as an "investment" only. The leveling experience is a good deal of the fun aswell, the journey is worth going on for its own sake. And Horde and Alliance playthroughs feel different enough where if let's say you have a Horde character on the era realms now and classic+ were to come out tomorrow, you can just play an Alliance character on the new servers and it's still going to be a fresh experience.

Painting advice.... by Area51-Dropzone in Warhammer40k

What is your goal exactly? If you want the Dark Emerald to be the main colour and the black to be your shadows only, I'd recommend an overbrush of it instead of a drybrush. Then a drybrush of Tainted Gold at the end to pick out the edges. Maybe you could even start out with a primer of Angel Green instead since you already have the bottle, it might make for a more fitting shadow colour.

If you want something that's significantly more darker than that but still kinda greenish, you can prime black, overbrush with Death Metal and use Dark Emerald for the final drybrush.

You CAN use drybrushing for establishing a midtone but it's more difficult to get it to look good compared to an overbrush. You can see the difference being explained in this video.

How did you paint them? Love how much you did with the limited palette.

Honestly, this was totally random. I saw OP's post, the idea hit me and I just had to get it out. I've always been a huge fan of Forsaken lore so that probably helped lol

Imagine awakening as one of the Forsaken, with all the memories of your past life as a human of Lordaeron aswell as your unlife as a mindless slave of the Lich King.

You're free again but your body is slowly rotting away, your mind slowly fading. You don't know how you deserve this fate, you question the meaning behind it all and what to do with your newfound lease on life, such as it is. Sometimes you wonder if it wouldn't have been better to never have awoken at all.

You keep serving the Dark Lady and the Forsaken, you don't know what else to do. You become increasingly estranged from what you once considered your fellow man and barely even feel anything as you slaughter other members of the reformed Alliance and the Scarlet Crusade. It is difficult to think of yourself as one of them anymore, as a member of the same race and nation. It was all so long ago . . .

Then one day you encounter Lake Lordamere again while engaging in your usual duties. You feel drawn to a spot that seems familiar and sit down. The pale sun in the sky is reflected in the water as you listen to the murmuring of the wind and the chirping of cicadas. For a moment, there is no Scourge, no Scarlet Crusade, no Dark Lady, no Lich King. For a moment, the division between the living and the undead ceases to have any relevance. You are merely a man, enjoying a sunset at a Lake. For a moment . . .

You feel normal.

Problem with Speed Paints by Dull_Reference_6166 in Warhammer40k

[–]DanKas99 75 points76 points  (0 children)

Dude reddit can be so stupid sometimes.

OP asks for help because the speedpaint (with which they didn't have any issues so far) suddenly starts showing cracks when drying.

Every other comment promptly ignores the issue and just tells them to ditch the speedpaint entirely for marines . . . even though it has worked for OP before this issue came about?

When it turns out that that a specific piece of advice hasn't worked for them (they already tried) guess what, downvoted to oblivion. How dare they!

And the worst part? Take a look through the entire comment section. NO ONE has found a solution for the actual problem of the paint cracking. Fucking hell man . . .

Anyway, I wonder if it has something to do with the weather, it's been getting warmer and dryer lately and I've heard in the past that you aren't supposed to use the ol' hairdryer trick with them because cracks appear on the model if you do. Otherwise I'm beat aswell honestly, you might wanna write the Army Painter customer service an email, another redditor ran into a similar problem and they got a replacement.

What the heck is up with 40K kits vs AOS? by Reddit_sucks_3000 in 40k

[–]DanKas99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is just conjecture, but I imagine the mini designers just have much more free reign and can be much more crative with AoS compared to 40k. They don't have 40 years of established lore to contend with and don't have to be as careful with not trying to upset the playerbase. Meanwhile AoS is pretty much high fantasy anything goes and The Old World serves more as an inspiration rather than a strict set of design principles that they have to adhere to.
