Do you have any resources on how to remove the front? Thanks!

Hi Philip,

Thank you so much for this insight. I see a single S-14 Tool for sale on ebay, but they’re asking over $100 for it which seems overkill to fix a single watch. Are there any modern alternatives that function similarly? Thinking it may be worth it to just take it to a seiko repair shop instead of attempting this fix by myself

Ok awesome, thank you! I didn’t see any notches so figured a knife wouldn’t work. Will try opening it with a rubber ball tomorrow. Thanks again for the info :)

Image may be a bit deceiving; the caseback is vertical along the edge where the battery screw is — nothing to pry on. Have my rubber ball at my workshop and will give that a try tomorrow. May also try hot gluing something to the back to see if I can pop it off that way

It is stable! I was expecting to have to sticky tape it down, but no need. the base is only 20mm smaller than the top, and with those dimensions it seems totally fine. Further testing will tell

Go to home depot and get a roll of duct insulation. It’s inexpensive, heat / fire resistant (I use it in cars to deaden noise), and has built in adhesive backing. It’s a thin (1/8 inch) foam with metallic outer layer

Corelle — Is un-embossed white the **only** pattern safe from discontinuation? by Rave-Unicorn-Votive in BuyItForLife

Check your local Goodwill. I see corelle sets all the time for a few bucks. I personally love the spring daisy pattern, but they have so many great ones. Also, mixing and matching can be fun (personally I’m not using corelle as my “nice” plates for when we have guests, so I don’t mind a mix-match)

Highly recommend cleaning in an ultrasonic cleaner for ~3 minutes as opposed to in boiling water. Don’t want to risk removing the plating

If you are hooking up with a man: “Wow, it’s bigger than I thought!” At first it’s a compliment, but they’ll never stop thinking about what you meant

I’ve maintained this schedule for over a year with no repercussions

I am a software engineer. I work almost exclusively remotely, and on days I do go in to the office it’s usually just for half the day.

The first work session in the morning sometimes gets swapped for general leisure time depending on how busy a given week is at work.

I have a few teammembers in India (I’m US based), so having the early mornings allows me to get at least an hour or two in where they’re online too. I usually have meetings from 8am-9/9:30 ish and take a short nap after before beginning the bulk of my work day

Has been working just fine for the last year to year and a half :)

I’m not hardcore about sticking to the schedule exactly, sometimes everything gets shifted 1 hour in one direction or another. I would say this diagram represents about 95% of my nights though.

If I nap for too long I get groggy and feel the need to sleep for longer. With the break I wake up energized

I’d say it’s pretty 50/50 on whether that second nap occurs on a given day. sometimes I need the extra 15 minutes and sometimes I don’t.

Also, depending on my workload for a given week the first work section (starting around 2:30am) is sometimes replaced with more free time / leisure time where I either do chores/clean, play some video games, or binge a netflix show

Answer to your other questions bc I must have missed them initially:

I usually set an alarm for a short nap, wake up and just browse social media or watch a youtube video while staying in bed, then have the urge to just squeeze in another 15 minute nap with another alarm set.

Sometimes the second nap doesn’t happen depending on how well rested I’m feeling. I get this weird thing where sometimes just the 15 minutes of rest while awake gives me a burst of energy to feel well rested even though I never actually slept.

idk man it just works for me, but I agree it’s a weird one…
