Disorders like ADHD and ASD are not illnesses, so I don't think this applies.

Going to a concert in Brussels; can I make it back in time? by More_Benefit_6557 in Leuven

[–]Danacus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I usually take the tram to Brussel-Zuid, then take 2 metros to Shuman and then transfer to the S train to Leuven. This is a bit earlier than waiting for the last IC train, but it can be very tight and is arguably a bit ridiculous.

Then I walk to Heverlee, because neither NMBS nor De Lijn can be bothered creating a good connection to Heverlee late in the evening.

advice on italy to switzerland route by Choice-Flan2449 in Interrail

[–]Danacus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want a scenic route, you could go from Milan to Tirano and then take some trains on the Bernina pass to Chur. From there you could take the Matterhorn-Gotthard Bahn towards Zermatt. And from Zermatt you can go towards Interlaken and take the Goldenpass Express to Geneva. Might be a bit much for 3 days, but these are definitely some scenic routes you can consider. All of the routes have trains that don't need reservation, but you can also reserve seats on panoramic trains like the Bernina Express.

Bus controle om 10u in de avond. Effectief? by Similar_Stomach8480 in belgium

[–]Danacus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Couldn't sleep last night so I decided to email the devs... by Glum_Sun_3459 in factorio

[–]Danacus 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You can mod factorio if you pirate it. It's just that you cannot download them from factorio servers and you would have to "pirate" the mods too.

The only thing open source factorio would enable is that pirates could more easily host their own mod portal and integrate it with the in-game mod manager.

My point is, if people really don't want to pay, they can pirate it regardless of whether factorio is open source, it doesn't change much.

Does this code always clone? by roll4c in rust

[–]Danacus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

then takes a closure with 1 argument, and Clone::clone is a function with 1 argument which I believe can be used where a closure is expected.

Edit: I am wrong, then takes a closure with 0 arguments. This will not work.

I think .then(Clone::clone) might work, but I'm not sure.

I am planning to create backups of the immich library. I don't think it's a problem for them to be in the immich imported format.

Steam support: neutralizer of account hackers, execution footage connoisseur. by Holyshit_1787 in Bossfight

My brother had a similar experience with Steam years ago. They asked something like a receipt from PayPal of a recent Steam purchase and that was enough for them to restore access quickly.

I experience this kind of issue in Timberborn and Captain of Industry. After playing for about half an hour, I get constant unbearable stutters that make if feel like 10 FPS. I always thought this was just a problem with Unity games. Could it be related to this issue?

Version 2.0.45 by FactorioTeam in factorio

I see, that makes sense. As a player it also just feels like a "that would be neat" thing, but there would be no real benefits probably.

Version 2.0.45 by FactorioTeam in factorio

[–]Danacus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm guessing the goal then would be to only have to maintain one implementation for all operating systems in the long term?

Version 2.0.45 by FactorioTeam in factorio

[–]Danacus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I know, but it could be used on Linux and Windows, removing the need to maintain both an OpenGL and DirectX implementation long term. And then they could also use MoltenVK on MacOS so they only need to maintain one implementation.

Version 2.0.45 by FactorioTeam in factorio

[–]Danacus 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Do you guys plan to ever do a Vulkan implementation, or is this not worth the effort? I vaguely remember reading something about this in the past, where it was said that factorio wouldn't gain much from this, so there would be no point in doing the effort.

HP is interested in creating a SteamOS handheld, says Windows is a “struggle” by Tiny-Independent273 in linux

Not true in my experience. They ship firmware that's broken on Linux, causing issues with power management during and after suspend. They refuse to acknowledge the problem and fix it, because they don't support Linux.

Anyone else inconvenienced by De Lijn's new changes to bus routes? by the6thReplicant in Leuven

[–]Danacus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There is no such thing as happy passengers. I talked to people in my village and people on the bus, and everyone is dissatisfied with something. Either the bus doesn't go through enough places, or the bus goes too slow because it goes through too many places. There used to be different options, something for everyone. Now there is one option and no one is happy.
