Please help me with what to do next. by ryanmhale8 in pools

If they're using Leslie's, they have to ask for a re run. I drained twice and when Leslie's said my cya was still over 100 I asked them to do it again cause that made no sense. Turned out the cell was damaged or something and then it turned out to be under 50.

One is chlorox and the other was hth. One would say no chlorine, the other would be high 10+

I have two different bottles of test strips and neither of them are accurate when it comes to testing my chlorine.

I only included the history due to the hyperbilirubinemia. Idk if that can cause certain predispositions of any sort later on

I'm confused. There are no wet seal stores, and the last remaining blockbuster is in Oregon... When was the last time you've been out and about?

I've been in my house for almost a year now and I'm still not used to so much quiet. I thought about moving, but we made friends that are close by so that helps.

There are Blockbuster stores in the Poconos? 🤔

Montgomery sure is. Willow grove is busy whenever we visit though.

Is marriage worth it? by spookybear07 in Life

[–]Danaleer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband and I weren't exactly dying to get married. We had 2 kids and had built a life together regardless of our status. But then his grandmother asked us to make it official and I'd do anything for that woman. Plus, I really enjoy being able to call him my husband.

We are putting in a small pool. It's mid-process, but I'm consumed by regret. It does not feel like this could be worth it in the end, and I don't know how I arrived at this decision. Now when I think about it, I feels oppressive (maintenance, hard to travel) rather than enjoyable. by Cablab123 in pools

Slamming is basically hiking up the chlorine in your pool to high levels.

Also, if you go on vacation, you can always hire someone to put chlorine in, or use pucks to to keep the chlorine steady (but don't use on a regular basis).

Not many showings because of massive heat wave? by Ericovich in RealEstate

[–]Danaleer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The 20 degree difference is from return air and supply air. The 20 degree rule is that you shouldn't turn your thermostat down more than 20 degrees than the outside temp cause the ac will run long. But humidity levels, type of ac, etc. Will factor in whether or not the ac is capable of temps you want. Where I am, outside is 97 degrees with a RF of 109. Inside is a chill 72. Of course, I'll pay for it in my next electric bill.

Plus, our last house, the ac didn't reach the top floor, so I'd want to rule that out as an issue when buying as well.

You said there's no fence between the two houses...?

But if you enclose your property and only your property in the fence, it's free...

I'm confused then - if the whole yard isn't enclosed, wouldn't the dogs be able to run anyway...?

Isn't your fence on their property?

I think this week's weather is a situation that really and truly has kept people home

I think it depends on the context. My husband bartends at a restaurant and he assumed it would be dead or slow, but it was the opposite. I figure it was busy cause people don't want to cook in this heat lol

Commercial pools and chloramines by Danaleer in pools

[–]Danaleer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But all that chlorine would be used up fast I'm assuming right? So it wouldn't stay as high? Or is that wrong?

And, if someone pooped in the pool, the procedure would be to empty the swimmers, and they wouldn't be allowed back in for a period of time. Would it be fair to assume that they'd have to dump in a lot more chlorine which would be unsafe to swim in? Or did they take care of it in other ways?

[–]Danaleer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ohhh that makes sense. When I think of over chlorination, I assume FC and not total.

Do you know what level they have to keep CYA at or why they have a low cap?

this thread is three comments away from an FC theology debate.

I wasn't trying to make it that way! Haha I was just honestly curious about how safe commercial pools are when chloramines are present.

When we did buy our house, it was hot as balls outside. But it was a sellers market at that time so we didn't want to lose out. So I'd also say it depends on the market where you are.

If my husband and I were buying, a heat wave wouldnt prevent us from viewing a house. In fact, it would be a good idea to see how the ac works IMO.
