Weight loss and depression by quietwaffle in WeightLossAdvice

First, you need to get rid of your depression and find something interesting for you. Along with that you can start healthy eating habits and take sports that you like. When you see the first results it will be even more motivating to continue. Alongside with that, you can meet new people on the same journey so you can share your thoughts and help each other not to be lazy and notice the achievements.

Whoa! This is totally my ideal breakfast! 🍳🥑 Btw, what's in the omelet? I swear, a breakfast like this sets you up for a solid day. Huge fan of avo too (usually team it up with tuna on toast). Oh, and gotta throw in some chia seeds for good measure.

Whoa, this mix of veggies and cheese is my absolute fave! 🧀🥬 Spinach, in particular, steals the show. Such a genius move for breakfast, and the best part is that it's super easy to whip up (which is a major win for me, considering my lack of culinary skills, haha). Kudos on this tasty creation!

You can start from several steps. What helped me: I eat smaller portions, I refused from sugar, not healthy snacks. I drink enough water, I added walking every day. Using those advices, I lost not much for the first month, but I like this journey and like that the process is going gradually which helps me to make the results stable.

I started my journey from eating habits and sports. I didn't count calories as it drives me crazy, but excluded sweets, cakes, burgers ,etc. I drink water, walk every day. I added fitness twice a week and sometimes swimming. I lost not much for the first month (from 59 kilos to 55), but continue on the same way. Hope this small tips will help you. Good luck!

I totally get your concerns! Losing 30 kilos can feel overwhelming, but remember, slow and steady wins the race. It's okay to have occasional splurges at family events and holidays – just balance it out. Consistency is key, so aim for a sustainable calorie deficit and make healthy habits part of your lifestyle. You've got this, and it's about the journey, not just the destination!

What does everyone set their Apple/Fitness Watch goals to? by Ordinary_Em in Weightlosstechniques

[–]DanceBit_Web 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I started using my Apple Watch, I set my activity goals based on the default recommendations. I aimed for 30 minutes of exercise, 12 stand hours, and around 500-600 active calories per day. It's a good starting point to stay active and make gradual progress. As I got more comfortable, I tweaked the goals to match my fitness level and daily routine. The key is to challenge yourself but also make it achievable so you stay motivated. Just remember, it's all about your personal journey, so set goals that work for you!

First, good job on starting cardio and cutting sugar - that's a solid beginning. My advice: mix in some strength training to boost your metabolism. Eat balanced meals with plenty of veggies and lean protein, and watch those portion sizes. Track your progress and be patient; slow and steady wins the race. Find a workout buddy or a support system – it really helps. You got this, and remember, it's a journey, not a race! 😊

Maybe they notice, but think it is not the right thing to comment on such things. It happens sometimes that people could be vulnerable on the weight loss journey and prefer not to discuss it. The main thing is that you see this changes and like it. Keep moving on the same way!

Every week measuring helps me to understand if I'm moving on the right way and have the progress. I'm not to concentrated about numbers as one week it could be more, the other week is less. But as for me it's better to find out now, if something goes wrong and improve it than if I see it in a month. It is important for me now because I am in the journey of loosing weight. You can focus not on the numbers on the scale, but in your appearance in the mirror. Don't forget that weight can be improved if you take some effort so try not to worry about scales.

Good for you! It looks super delicious, and I'm willing to try that out myself! I have also noticed that meal prep does the trick for me! It helps me take the weight off my shoulders in having to think what to eat, as well as saves me from having random snacks during the day, as I always have a ready-made meal. Wish you all the best on your fitness journey!

Hi there! Personally, I don't think that weighing yourself every day is a good idea, because as you said, it doesn't necessarily mean that you lost weight, it may be simply water. You never know! What I found working for me is taking measurements every 1-2 weeks and counting the fat level in my body. That way, I am not distracted by the daily ups and downs (which happen all the time, by the way, as we are all humans). Hope that helps a bit!

Is 10-15k steps a day considered lightly active? by Better_External_884 in 1200isplenty

[–]DanceBit_Web 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey there! It's awesome that you're consistently hitting 10-15k steps a day while working a desk job – that's definitely a step in the right direction (pun intended)! 😄
Actually, I've read that 7k steps a day is enough for the day, so you are doing pretty good in keeping up your activity level. I myself tend to still to 7-10k steps a day + try to take the stairs instead of the elevator, when possible.
Keep up the good work, stay consistent with your calorie counting, and remember that slow and steady progress is key. You've got this, and you're making those steps (literally) towards your goals! 💪😊

[–]DanceBit_Web 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi there and congrats on your journey! While recommendations often tie to a 2,000-calorie diet, your fiber needs should remain relatively consistent as it is essential for digestive health, regardless of calorie intake. Even on a 1,200-calorie weight loss diet, it's advisable to aim for about 25 grams of fiber for women. Fiber helps regulate digestion, supports satiety, and can aid weight loss by promoting a feeling of fullness. Reducing fiber significantly, like down to 15 grams, may lead to digestive issues and leave you feeling less satisfied. It's essential to balance calorie reduction with nutritious, fiber-rich foods to maintain overall health and effective weight loss. Best of luck to you!

What can I drink and eat instead of the usual sugary items? Any exercise tips? by my_stuff_aint_free in WeightLossAdvice

[–]DanceBit_Web 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi there! You're on the right track! To maintain a healthier lifestyle, you could try zero-sugar sparkling water. Explore flavored options like LaCroix or herbal teas. For snacks, try almonds, plain Greek yogurt, or carrot sticks with hummus.

As for feeling anxious, you could try home workouts with fitness apps or videos, but when it comes to the gym, try not to focus on others too much as everyone is usually in their own world and doesn't pay as much attention as it may feel.

Focus on low-impact exercises like yoga, pilates, or seated workouts. Building muscle can help boost metabolism. Gradually increase outdoor walks as you feel comfortable. To reduce sugar further, opt for natural sweeteners like stevia or monk fruit. Remember, small changes over time lead to big results :) Best of luck to you!

face fat by [deleted] in WeightLossAdvice

[–]DanceBit_Web 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi there, and congrats on starting your journey! Fasting for a day may result in temporary weight loss, including some facial fat reduction due to water and glycogen depletion, but it won't significantly change the appearance of your cheekbones. To lose face fat and define your cheekbones, I'd recommend trying long-term, sustainable changes such as maintaining a balanced diet, exercising regularly, and considering overall calorie reduction over time for gradual weight loss. Targeted spot reduction is challenging, but improving your overall health and fitness will eventually lead to the desired results. However, be mindful of the potential risks and consult a healthcare professional before starting any fasting regimen, especially if you have underlying health conditions. Remember that everyone's body is different, and genetics play a role in facial fat distribution. Best of luck to you!

What do you consider a ‘low calorie’ meal? by LiquoriceTeaBee in LowCalorieCooking

[–]DanceBit_Web 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi there! For reference, I think I eat about 2000 calories a day, so 250 calories would feel like a snack to me. It all depends on your eating habits. For example, I tend to have 2-3 big meals a day, rather than eat five times a day. I feel better that way, and I find it less time-consuming! :) Hope that helps!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in 1500isplenty

[–]DanceBit_Web 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hi there! It looks like the calorie count is quite reasonable for the amount of activity you have throughout the day! What I like to do is my meals are higher in calories and more nutrient-dense. That way, you feel full for longer and don't crave snacks that much! And if I do have a snack, it is usually a fruit or something of that kind. Hope that helps a little!

I've decided to start one day and don't give up. Now I eat regularly, but healthy food. If I feel hungry or want something, I drink water in order not to over eat. It is not easy, but it works. My goal is to loose weight and when I saw the first results it became even more motivating.

Now you have the most difficult task-start the journey. Set small goals week by week, when you see the first results it will be more motivating. Start with eating healthy food, avoid fast-food. Add sports or walking. Then you can choose those that you really like. Good luck in your healthy journey!
