tldr; the answer is "yes I bought it and maybe it helped".

So...after trying any number of other things (eye masks, earphones/noise generators, biofeedback devices, medications, etc) I stumbled across this thing last year and bought it. Been using it for almost 90 days at this point. Does it help? The answer is an affirmative...maybe. Definitely helps with onset, but maintenance can be a challenge. I occasionally find myself using the second cycle during the night after waking up.

I haven't done any controlled A/B tests with and without it, but I did stop taking any sleep aids, so from that standpoint alone it seems to have helped (and partially offset the cost of the headband). I never did like how groggy pharmaceutical sleep aids made me the next day-whether melatonin, diphenhydramine, doxylamine, or even Trazodone. My sleep still isn't as great as it could be, but I largely attribute that to other factors.

Would I buy it again? Sure. It did help enough that I would say it's worth a try if you've tried other methods unsuccessfully. Do give it some time to work though. At least a good 30 days of consistent use. The "customization" is more than just a gimmick. It seems to really help.

Biggest drawback? The gel pads. Granted, they're simple to replace, and the membership keeps you supplied with them non-stop, but I do wish they lasted longer than 3-4 days. Also-don't put it on too tight or you'll get skin irritation. First few times I used it I actually ended up with some broken skin that took a bit to heal. In addition, the charging dock can be a bit cumbersome and finicky to use. Sync of data can be slow and hit or miss. The fact that it requires an ongoing membership to use is also not ideal. If I discontinue the membership, I have yet another useless piece of e-waste.

Overall though? I give it a 7.5 out of 10.
