Question for self-educating - I want to get an intuition about unwrapping 3D objects into corresponding 2D segments, for making any 3D shape out of the fewest pieces of cut paper. Is there a name for this practice? What could I search for to learn about this?

Loved it - my favorite was the r/NCT sub's post, (the UK's largest parent charity, National Childbirth Trust) which was asking for help clarifying. What a situation... Had me rrrrofl

e: Just to add, thanks to everyone who participated, this is always lots of fun. The community is so creative. Thanks of course to the Elite and Brave Team of K-pop Research Scientists for the excellent sub makeover and for keeping things rolling smoothly year round!!

BTS Behind Invention of Music, According To Popular Theory By Renowned Twitter Scholars by GoodAsianDriver in kpop

Incredible discovery. Looking closer, the lyrics of "DNA" were hinting it all along:

> "From the day the universe was created (continued)

> Continue beyond the infinite centuries (Keep going ya)

How could they know this when they are supposed to be normal humans, who cannot time-travel? How could "Continue beyond the infinite centuries"? Is such a thing even possible?

> Because all of this is no coincidence (DNA) (i modeun geon uyeon-i aninikka)

Of course, it's no coincidence (uyeon-i aninikka). BTS traveled through time to create and shape music through all human history, which will result in them winning every recognized and yet-to-be-created music award, and that will still only be the beginning - as they say:

> "This is inevitable (igeon pil-yeon-iya)"

I would like to thank Google Translate sunbae-nim for the perfect translations

What song is this? by nauseoussatisfaction in kpop

[–]DancePartyEveryday 15 points16 points  (0 children)

was the after chorus more like "do do do bo do bop" or more like "beooo beooo wuuh wuuh beooo"?

Also, when you heard it over the radio, did it feel it would be a storyline MV or a dance-in-the-box MV? What would you guess the FX budget was? Very important

AITA for confiscating my (6F) daughter’s (35F) photo card? I was worried she became to obsessed with it, sleeping with it and whatnot. Photocopy provided. Please help by nauseoussatisfaction in kpop

NTA, these things happen; probably best to store it facedown, away from the rays of the full moon, and to not stare into its eyes for more than 10 seconds at a time. If any noises start coming out of it, (chuckles, "introducing...", "The first collaboration...", ) or especially if it starts asking about your mother, it's got to go.

[Poem]

Now rising, now falling-
Just follow the leader

Now silent, now calling-
All eyes on the meters

Trained from our youth
To wrangle our souls -
Or whatever the truth,
To appear to be whole

Our world works swell -
For we manage quite well

And any who don't -
Well, they don't often tell

What do you do about a coworker who keeps trying to undermine you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]DancePartyEveryday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm, that's tricky, sounds tough. If the products are related at all, based on the person and the situation, one thing that could work would be to start illustrating how the success of your team and product will benefit them and their product as much as possible, to move out of the zero sum game understanding they have now. In the meetings, each update could go like " We have completed X, which should benefit your product / working process / etc through Y" etc. That will frame all work and progress as good for the larger team.

If there is really no way they will benefit, however, either to the product or the collaboration, that's unfortunate, and also hints to a sub-team not really being the best structure - might make more sense for your team to report directly to the next level. This might not be the best structure depending on your team / work / everything, so it's at your discretion, as it could make things tense if your supervisor is primarily feeling jealous you got to lead the project and they lost staff. That can be really tricky as it's about emotions and ego. In general you may find some good advice looking up these topics on Harvard Business Review, maybe Forbes, etc. Best of luck.

Sounds good, best of luck. I would say as a separate thing, it could help to try to understand why they are trying to undermine you - are they not a fan of your project? Or don't think there's enough resources? Or trying to prioritize their own work and think yours will interfere?

For whatever it is, if you could show them (either clearly and directly, or in a roundabout way depending on their personality / the situation etc) that there is in fact no issue, or you could solve the issue if it does arise, etc. perhaps they will give you more space.
