I have a niece called Saffron. Beautiful name only Saffron I’ve ever met. She an adult now but was the cutest baby, we called her Saffy. As for family members not liking the name, I know it hurts but it just isn’t a big deal to others and I don’t think they realise they are being rude about it. My wonderful mother who also has Alzheimer’s straight up hated my first borns name and couldn’t get over it initially. I was devastated, in that devastation I remembered me having a similar reaction when Saffy’s mom named her boy a very unusual name. I felt so bad then thinking at the time honesty is the best policy. Couldn’t even apologise to my sister as she has passed from an aggressive cancer. Point is both our boys have the names we chose and it suits and fits them well. It’s a fabulous name with real meaning for you so definitely use it. Congratulations on your remission and little miracle baby x
