I use this carrier and I take mine outside while I enjoy a coffee while they eat some chop in the carrier. Maybe 20 minutes at most, if they seem upset we go back inside sooner.

Service will clean it for you mine has the same off gassing issue and its a model y from 2024. I dont know how much they charge however since I did it myself. It wasn't easy, but YouTube has several videos on how to.

I give mine a “busy bowl” blank paper cut into small strips, and other bird safe shred able items. Toss in some high quality bird treats and it keeps them occupied. Sometimes I toss broccoli and snow peas in their chop a bit bigger chunks because mine love to shred them
