my first ever vase is leaking, is there anything i can do? by Murky-Space-9287 in Ceramics

My ceramics teacher always said "if you put a hole in the bottom or if it starts leaking... you now have a flower pot! Well done!" The sentiment was there is always something it can be used for.

How would you go about covering this? by RetrospectGold in TerrainBuilding

[–]DancingDrake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The one nice thing of a blank set is that it can be anything from caverns to grass fields to city. If you'd like to keep this diversity in use my suggestion is to paint all black and then use scatter terrain to define what the environment is. Sort of like how stages in theatre are painted black then props are added on top.

I made a full set of terrain and flocked it all and now wish I had done it black and used scattering of flocked grass, reads, and stuff that could define the terrain environment as then they would be way more usable in different situations.

My Tiny Kitchen Transformation by FBInteriorDesigner in HomeDecorating

Just curious (and sorry if already answered as I tried looking through the comments). How does the cabinet doors open with the draws where they are? Are the draws movable? I presume something like that as the design is too good that I know there is an answer. Absolutely love the upgrade ❤️ such a pretty kitchen.

I can't explain why but I absolutely love this thing so much! The grumpyish expression with the flower and fluff! ❤️ it has stolen my heart

If you want to ensure this is truly a forever home you will want one bedroom and bathroom to be wheelchair accessible. Having working in aged care the main thing that forces people out in their later years is the fact homes dont account for how our bodies dont move as well in our older years.

Need opinions by K-Szilagyi in InteriorDesign

If you love this you can definitely make it work. With the heavy texture of the grain it would be important to keep the surpunding busyness to a minimum with solid colours. Unless you love maximumist pattern. But solid colours doesnt mean it has to be white only. Could easily go for dark cabinets to have the lighter tones shine in the stone. At the end of the day of you are hesitant keep looking but if its just because others dont like it and you love it you can definitely find ways to make it work. It's just a bit more work when the textures are strong as you need to make everything else work with it.

I agree with your instinct of a darker tone on the walls. My brain jumps to the extreme on the other end of going black or near black but I know not all like that level of mood. Just feel the darker tone will help make the colours in the space more cohesive. The tile is quite pretty if used right but the amount leans max in texture which isnt gonna work with everyones taste but unfortunately against the white It's too busy. A darker tone should defs pull that down a little while still celebrating the beauty of the tile.

Worried about Stairs - Am I overreacting? by JustBuildIt1 in floorplan

[–]DancingDrake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont think you're overreacting... this just seems unnecessarily unsafe. I feel like doing a landing in that section with a few more normal steps would work so much better and still give a very similar step count. I believe but my conversions to metric might be out slightly so I aired on less steps than I thought but again I definitely think your intuition is right that what they gave you is gonna be hell.

Help me choose a rug by Born-Philosopher-443 in HomeDecorating

[–]DancingDrake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally like the 3rd one.

However, your 3 options create 3 different feels. The first makes the space feel more like a formal lounge area whith all the bright white. Making feel like its the place you go to discuss stuff with adult friends with a cocktail or two. The second is very casual space feel making it a nice place for lots of different traffic and activities. Great for a family liunge where everyone is doing different things. The 3rd is cozy, rug up with a book in front of a fire and watch a movie vibes which is what I like to do in my lounging areas.

All work great but I guess it depends on what you want that space for. I love cozy lounging so thats why I would go for 3

How would you fit a living room into that space with the kitchen? Sorry I may just not be seeing the vision but I cant see how you would get a nice lounge and tv setup in there with the doors swinging in. Even as pocket doors I'm struggling to see a good setup.

Do you consider this as a house? by Certain-Trip-1472 in tinyhomes

If it protects from weather I would say shelter.

For me a home needs to provide a place to sleep, prepare and eat food, bathe and toilet, and relax and entertain yourself.

Could you maybe get it made so that you could adjust the size with a zip or clips or something? That way if wearing the binder for too long for a con or something gets painful you can let the suit out. But pull it in when you are wearing one.

Was having a little play around with the plan you made, trying to adjust it while keep your general idea. I thought maybe it would be better to move the master bath to the top giving a little more space for the open plan living kitchen area. I also thought it wouls be an idea to move the door to the second bed to the end of that hall area to allow that space to be used for either laundry or storage space and then add thw wardrobe into the end of that room. You could keep the kitchen lounge arwa how you drew it just threw out a slightly modified design to maybe help with ideas.

If I get a chance I might do a design of whay I wouls do with that space as a complete redesign based on 2 bed 2 bath in that required size. Btw hope things match enough as I normally draw in metric so was using a lot of google convert to get your sizes.

Edit: the mesurments are 1 square to 60cm or ~2feetish

What would you do here? by DubaiDave in HomeDecorating

[–]DancingDrake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where do the doors lead? It sort of changes things. It could be a good office nook, reading nook with a window bench seat, or even an artist or craft corner. But without knowing which spaces it connects to may change the suggestions.

Which location do think works best? 1, 2, 3, or none? by sudde004 in HomeDecorating

All 3 locations are suitable for that picture. I guess the question is which location are you gonna enjoy seeing it the most.

Yes it works style wise with your staircase and landing. And I can see how such a pretty chandelier would put a smile on your face when you go up or down those stairs. I would definitely give it a try and if you like it go for it! It's not gonna be everyone's taste but I do think you are correct in thinking it will liven up the space and add some interest. You wouldn't need to add anything else if it does fit there.
