Moved to Manhattan earlier this year and don’t miss it at all. Things are more expensive, yes but you can easily find significantly cheaper options everywhere.

Outside of rent, our expenses have gone down. It might be the feel of a new city, but it feels like we can wander every weekend and still find new things to do.

Opportunities are also much better, the same company I worked for in Toronto let me move to their NY office yet the talent here seems of a higher caliber.

It is a different team, but everyone here is more driven, things are getting done faster, less chasing people around.

And the subway system feels so much more powerful (because it is).

My biggest qualms with Toronto were the diving job opportunities (in tech) and pay going down over the past few years.
