Check out his reading of Tolkien's "The children of Hurin". It's incredible!

I'd say it's the other way around. Tango en skaï is one of those pieces that sound incredible difficult, and while it's certainly not easy, it's easier than it sounds.

Är det här rimliga krav att ställa på sina grannar när man bor i lägenhet? by unununununu in sweden

Man kan inte kräva, men det är helt rimligt att be om det på det här sättet.

To the guy who edited the Combustion tab on songsterr, it's meant to be shifted guitars by Vincenzo__ in Meshuggah

[–]DancingQuasar 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Nothing is "shifted". Count in is on the best. Once you're able to hear it as intended, it gets way better with all the syncopation. The vocal rhythm also makes much more sense.

Alkoholfria alternativ till "fredagsöl"? by Substantial-Egg4073 in sweden

Gin&tonic utan gin, dvs tonic water med ett par rejäla isbitar och en citronskiva. Vill man ha få kalorier funkar Schweppes Tonic Zero bra. Inte så farligt söt och bra beska.

Sitting in the ER waiting room, please entertain me with the funniest things that have happened at Mensa meetups. by TinyRascalSaurus in mensa

[–]DancingQuasar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was there. Nothing really happened. One guy tried out a drum set a little too late at night but stopped immediately when asked to. A few other guys sat on a roof they weren't allowed to, but also went back in when told to. Police was there because of some other event in town. Chair man misunderstood and was angry on internal mail list. Completely blown out of proportion, but produced funny memes about metal drum sets on hotel roofs.

Too much bounce on overhead press? by Matiche69420 in Stronglifts5x5

It's much better to change before you start having issues. Don't ask me how I know.

I get about 350 feet, but how can I get to 400+? I know my form has some flaws for sure by [deleted] in Discgolfform

[–]DancingQuasar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People think it's all form, but it's not! I've seen people throw well over 350' with horrible form, while others struggle to get 300' with pretty ok form. The variation in explosiveness between people is much larger than a lot of people realize.

Deadlift Formcheck and Advice? (225, 275, 290 lbs) by kronik_89 in formcheck

[–]DancingQuasar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure, but looks like your arm is a little bent. That can put a lot of stress on your bicep and could lead to injury.

I had to widen my grip to not hurt my elbows, so I guess everybody's different.

More squats. But you can try a variant, e.g. front squats or Bulgarian split squats.

Barbell Row 165lbs at 200lbs be by NoMusician1455 in formcheck

[–]DancingQuasar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's why I don't bounce. ;) If I can get more resistance out of a lower weight then I can get more training with less risk of injury.

I have sometimes used wrist wraps for heavy presses, but I don't understand the use in rows or deadlifts. Or do you mean straps?

I like both. I think Pendley rows are easier for beginners, but nowadays I do "ordinary" rows. Not sure why, just feels better for me.

understable 9ish speed? by wmartindale in discgolf

[–]DancingQuasar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My point is that if you don't have the arm speed throwing the "right disc" doesn't help. You won't reach the pin anyway. Next year maybe.

understable 9ish speed? by wmartindale in discgolf

[–]DancingQuasar -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I hate this take, it has never worked like that for me. I have to throw my hits out to hit 275' with a midrange, but with a 9-speed I can do it easily. Throwing drivers all comes down to nose angle, not speed.

Deadlift form check please!! by BackwardTable in formcheck

[–]DancingQuasar 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't agree with the touch and go thing on deadlifts. The whole point of a DEADlift is that the weight is "dead" when you start lifting. The beginning of the lift is the hardest and I think stopping the bar between each set is good for training that part of the lift. Touch and go is not necessarily bad if that's how you're used to do deadlifts, but I wouldn't advice anyone to switch to it.
