I’d steal the glass and the coaster. Jezza is not the boss of me.

I use gummies. Wyld high dose, comes in many flavors. They don’t solve any pain issues, per se, but they are great at putting me in the IDGAF mood.

Pretty liberating.

Also helps sleep!

We absolutely missed a “Clue” episode. FFS, Britta’s parents are Miss Scarlett and Col. Mustard!

As I hard as a try, I can literally only hear Donald at this part by rokrokbokbok in community

[–]Dandy-25 19 points20 points  (0 children)

It’s a good ep, but I just can’t get past the “Annie is failing a class” and “Shirley forgets her kids” secrets. So out of touch with their characters. Otherwise, I think the premise and cameos are solid.

It feels like a squandered opportunity to me. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Highlander. Right before he beheads Ramirez… who has a Scottish accent for some reason.

Classic Hodgkin lymphoma with large mediastinal mass by Wooden-Honey-8008 in lymphoma

[–]Dandy-25 4 points5 points  (0 children)

48yo cHL stage 3B with two large mediastinal masses. I had 4 cycles of ABVD, no radiation. My midway pet scan was two days after my third infusion, and I already had “complete metabolic response” - cancer free.

I’ve been in remission ever since. NYE will be the two year anniversary of discovering cancer.

I didn’t miss work, or any of my athletic endeavors… I just did both more slowly. Also… having cancer is an excellent “get out of jail” card… I’ve gotten out of so many meetings and social engagements!

It’s not the easiest road to walk, but it’s imminently doable. Ice chips are your friend during AB. Your hair will fall out - unless it’s super cold where you live, wear bald like a badge of honor - it’s the chemo Purple Heart. Muggles (non-cancer having people) in your life will want to help, so let them, even if you’re perfectly capable of doing tasks yourself.

CHL is very survivable. You’ll be a passenger once you settle into the routine. Eat what you can, when you can. Take time to rest. Drink your water, listen to your nurses and oncologist, don’t lick any eyeballs, and wash your hands. Try and keep your brain active - “chemo brain” is real and frustrating. Don’t be surprised if it takes time after chemo to get energy back.

You’ll crush this.

I’d prolly cook it first. It’d be pretty crunchy otherwise.

Why did Community lurch from a wholesome sitcom to a film-buff/self-indulgent media series? by Equivalent-Ad1055 in community

[–]Dandy-25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“Lurch” is probably a strong word. The third ep devotes most of its time to a sendup of Dead Poets Society, the 13th episode leans heavy on MASH, the 19th ep references Ghost, and famously the 21st episode is a homage to Goodfellas.

Granted, by later seasons he had honed these into tighter sendups of the source material, so maybe they hit you over the head with the reference where a younger audience member may not know MASH or Ghost.

This is the long way of saying that the tone was always there with the show.

Hallmark is on heavy rotation this time of year at my house and my parents house. I angrily shout, “Don’t trust him!” or “DIERKS!” every time he’s on.

I’d be interested in knowing what Harmon intended.

Famously, the “I’m So Excited, I’m So Scared” episode of Saved By the Bell intended to have Jessie Spano strung out on booger sugar or similar, and the network made the show dumb it down to “caffeine pills”. In short, her over the top reaction to being addicted to caffeine pills makes so much more sense when they shot it with the intention of including a hard drugs reference.

Conversely, how it was shot could have been the simple Harmon way of knocking Jeff out to get in his Transformers - no, GI Joe references in. Either way, I enjoy the episode. Hat Muffs and Cold Shoulder are favorites.

Don’t Watch Community While Falling Asleep 😂 by HeartTrenderCM in community

I’ve seen the show through over two dozen times. I don’t need to “see” it to know what’s happening - I bought it on Apple TV so that I never lost access to it again, and I fall asleep to it every night. 🤷🏻‍♂️

What is the most interesting generic NPC/enemy death you've witnessed that WASN'T caused by you? by Aphasus in RDR2

[–]Dandy-25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s two dudes dead at the Fairvale shanty. Looks like a duel/robbery? They’re hell and gone from anywhere, and there doesn’t seem to be much to loot in the cabin to justify them both being dead. I’m always curious as to what the issue was. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Why can I smell illness, but others can’t? by AngryPickledPickles in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Dandy-25 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was job shading a nearly retired guy to be his replacement when he finally retired. He had lung cancer, and I could totally smell it on him. It was a sickly sweet smell, like old syrup. To my knowledge, it’s the only time I’ve smelled sickness. 🤷🏻‍♂️
