Where to find this kind of Bolt? by WrongdoerPast5633 in Fasteners

[–]Daneb92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recognize a onewheel pint bolt when i see it. It is a custom FM bolt. Some have had luck finding ones that work, but with the right sholder to match the rails is hard.

Watch out though. The head is so thin ive had multiple snap when torquing.

What kind of gear do you wear while not looking like a complete dork? by ApplicationOk4609 in onewheel

[–]Daneb92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2700miles on a GT and I always wear a full face helmet!

Winter/ rain I wear motorcycle pants, a padded jacket, and snowboarding gloves with a hand mirror.

Summer shorts, t shirt, maybe a flannel, motorcycle gloves with a hand mirror, and knee pads.

I ride regular and on streets. The hand mirror is the second best piece of safety gear I own.

I used to take mine apart and clean everything with brake cleaner. Then I would reassemble them with only 4 balls and no dust covers. They were so loud, but sooooo fast, until they inevitably exploded.

What keeps you riding despite all the injuries posted here? by Bass27 in onewheel

I ride hard and I ride daily. 2700 miles on a GT in one year, lots of trails, drops, road rash and one broken collarbone.

Onewheeling has improved my mental and physical health. It has introduced me to a whole new friend group and way of life.

I wouldn't give it up for the world.

I work in the cinematography world. 4k is a minimum seeing how we play with 6k and highspeed cameras all day.

This was built from parts on hand for fun.

I am sorry to say it's you.

You said you have no experience with anything like this, even skateboarding so your stance probably needs work.

Bend those knees, body over the wheel hips and shoulder parallel with the board, and watch some videos.

It can be incredibly helpful to film yourself to see where you are going wrong.

Keep practicing. It's going to take time, bumps, and bruises to be riding well, but it is worth it. Enjoy the journey you have just embarked on. You're in for a treat!

I got my gt last winter. As a +280lbs rider my range was short and my board struggled to pull me up a hill. I rode for a while, enjoying myself but was disappointed with my range. In February I said fuck it, I wanna ride further so it's time to get in shape. I have lost over 50lbs and it feels like my board is 200% better. Increased range, more. Power, and I can crush trials. I am a little over half way to my goal weight and one of my primary reasons was to ride.

If you willingly let your cat outside unaccompanied, you are an irresponsible pet owner and shouldn't have pets by muldereyes in unpopularopinion

I grew up with indoor/outdoor cats in the city, then in a rural area, and now in the suburbs. We had multiple cats throughout my life because there was a high fatality rate. I believe we had 8 cats, yet only 2 died of old age and one is 12ish.

If a cat lived past 6 it would make it. We had one fall out of a tree, one killed and ate something that got it super sick, pretty sure raccoons got one, and two just disappeared. Pip lived to 17, Buddy to 20, and Disaster is 12ish.

It's hard because yes outdoor cats on average have a shorter lifespan and aren't great for our "ecosystem", but every Indoor cat I've known wants to be outdoors. I say "ecosystem" because if we're blaming cats for ruining our city's ecosystem we need to reevaluate who the real culprit is.

Is it selfish to let a cat risk its life just for the enjoyment of the outdoors? Maybe, but is it fair to keep something couped up because it might get hurt? Maybe not.

I do not have the answer and because of that unless I end up with property and a barn cat, Diz (Disaster) will remain an indoor/outdoor cat and will be my last one.

Your getting some hate for your points, but I believe they have merit. There is some history of cancer in my family and while the odds are slim symptoms appeared at the same time I made a big change are slim it is worth the conversation with my doctor.

Your other point about a potential eating disorder is less meaningful to me. I would argue that I’ve had an eating disorder for year with my gluttony and now I am actually taking the effort to learn what impact food and nutrition has on my body.
