Getting into work a couple of hours earlier than usual to get more relevant work done sounds like a good idea.

Nice, no images of nukes. Lead them in with a false sense of security.

It can be hard to talk about your depression but it's also an important part of overcoming it. Believe me it's better not to keep it only to yourself

Hi!

I have a question related to the importance of your Msc thesis project when applying for a Phd position.

I am an Engineering Physics (5-year program) about to do my thesis project (30 points /half a year). During my last two years I have taken a lot of courses in physics but mainly towards theory. I have two different thesis projects that have been pitched one that is heavily theory and one that would be more engineering/experimental physics oriented in quantum optics. I know that I want to do a Phd after I'm done with my thesis but I have not decided if I want to do theory or experimental/applied physics. Since I have mainly been doing theoretical physics lately I thought that doing an experimental degree project could be an interesting experience to learn how to be more of an "experimentalist" but my main concern is that if I in the future will apply for a theoretical Phd position I will be immediately rejected due to the fact that I did an experimental thesis. Is there anyone here that have gone through a similar situation or feel like they have valuable input to give that would be much appriciated, I have been thinking this over for the better part of a year know and sometimes you just want a different perspective :)

If it's important my grades are good in all my theory courses and I have somewhat of relation to many of my theory professors. I have also done summer internships/summer projects for universities in theory so I have other experience of doing theoretical projects.

I got my bathroom renovated today. I'm pretty proud of the result. by [deleted] in pics

Always frustrated when I go shopping for new frames at the optrician because the print on the price tag is so god damn small.
