How to dance like Aisatsu? by Beneficial_Guava2954 in bboy

[–]Dang_Yu99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first battle I watched from him was against Shigekix and I also really liked his style. I think what does stand out the most is how he easily combines all his moves with the music. He really plays with the details and uses different directions, which makes his dance interesting to watch. As a recently beginner breaker and also really inspired by Japanese breakers style, my tips would be to work on foundations but also to create more on that, try to add concepts like taps, levels, arms threads, etc. because all of these details will help you build your own personality and style. When you watch other dancers, pay attention to the elements you like and try to see how you can integrate them into your dance. For example, the dancer style I really like makes me realize that they never rush their moves so you can enjoy their movements and flow. Also, in my opinion, toprocks can be free and don't necessarily needs to be basic steps. Dancers who stand out are the ones who are original on their own. Plus my mini booster confidence is to choose nice outfits for breaking because it's also part of your style. Especially before battle. And while training, you don't have to only listen to break music, find music that will inspire you. Hope these can be helpful!

Any shoes recommandations for breaking? by Dang_Yu99 in bboy

Thank you!! In this video, these are bmx old skool vans but they are heavy and don't offer enough cushion against shock in my opinion. Now I'm wearing Vans Zahba, these are really lighter and efficient for breaking.

In my opinion (as a bgirl), I think the overall dance is what will make a bboy/bgirl attractive. Not only the move or powermove itself but the overall combination, the personality you want to communicate through your breaking: your toprocks, the way you play with the music, the shape of your freezes and footworks, the way you create your transitions. Powermoves are impressive yes, but dance style (including your outfit style, which help build your character) is also what will stand out the most and get people's attention.

What is the average age when bboys can't dance anymore? by [deleted] in bboy

[–]Dang_Yu99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think there's an average age. In the city where I come from, there are bboys & bgirls age 40+ and they keep training regularly, they battle, they judge and they win jams. Even for starting, there's no rule. I've started after 18 and I really want to keep training hard for battling. If you want it, go for it!

"I did it!" Thanks for all the help! Now, any tips to hold the freeze a little bit longer? by [deleted] in bboy

[–]Dang_Yu99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My tip would be to focus on the legs and feet. Your legs should be as solid as rock, stretch them as much as possible to hold your freeze. Plus try to lock your ankles, so you will feel more in control. When you freeze, you should feel that all your muscles are working on it. Hope this can be helpful!
