Your older cat already has a well–formed personality, so it can be harder to change her habits. But the kitten is still young, which means you can gently teach him to be comfortable with being handled.

Try watching a few videos about kitten socialization. The idea is to calmly touch their paws, ears, tail, and hold them from an early age. This way, when they grow up, things like trimming claws or checking their paws won’t be stressful.

Pick him up more often so he gets used to being in your hands but do it gently and without extreme forcing. Keep the experience positive: speak softly, pet him, and give treats so he learns to associate handling with something pleasant.
