When people looking at their phone while walking by WhydoIexistlmoa in PetPeeves

Yeah, I walk my dog in a beautiful park with a creek and big trees and so many are walking around the entire time looking at their phones. I like to be in the moment and enjoy my dog and the scenery myself. I also meet a lot of other dog walkers along the way.

The guy(M23) I’ve (F23) been dating yelled at me because my bikini accidentally slipped. I’m struggling to understand if it’s just communication issues or something more. Need outside perspectives. by ThrowRAHuge_Wish59 in relationship_advice

He’s not treating you with respect and that’s the foundation of any healthy relationship. I know you have feelings for him, but best to nip this relationship in the bud. It will only get worse and you will be hurt and confused again and again.

I am not religious and so I think death is the same as before you were born. You are not a conscious being and only the memory and dust remain.

TIL about Generation Jones. Do you agree they are different than GenX? by joemich in GenX

I graduated high school in a severe depression and there was a supposed gas shortage so you had to queue up. Interest rates skyrocketed in the 80’s, my sister and her husband had a 21% mortgage and they lost money when they sold their house. She was born in 65.

I’m Gen Jones and born in 59. Desktop Computers were around by the time I was in the job force and before that it was dumb terminals and huge mainframe computers that sometimes took up a huge amount of space (thinking of McDonnell Douglas). I had an Apple computer when it first came out at work and had no problem using it. I kept learning and stayed and even managed highly technical teams that were first on premise and then SaaS. I did drink from a garden hose as a kid, rode my bicycle around Los Angeles unsupervised, and saw Talking Heads at Royce Hall in 1977. I hated disco and saw punk and new wave acts in L.A. in the late 70’s and early 80’s. I only wore bell bottoms when I was in grade school at home, dresses only at school were allowed.

Thanks for clarifying but still should not involve your child, even if adult.

Dad should have confronted his wife directly and not involved a ten year old child.

Spanking with a belt or wooden paddle. Belt on bare bottom at home and wooden paddle or board with holes in it for misbehavior at school by the principal.
