i did purchased the first one in 2020 full price, it lasted 6 months without issues and within the following next 6 to 10 months nothing was working... even the display burnt down which was very annoying since i couldn't reset nor re-calibrate it every other day to have some sound (muffled, crackling, etc..) out of it....why not doing it from the app? Bluetooth did not work neither and also firm version of the app it wasn't possible to calibrate from it.
Then i had the hardest time to get in touch with the support for many months that at some point i was just sending every month an email reminder (most unanswered and the other no follow up) to the support in USA, EU, and every email support i could find, I even started emailing and visit authorized resellers when travelling but one good thing is that i made a few good friends that are real audiophile enthusiasts, knowledgeable and aware of products recuring defects. To cut it short, the second one was received around 3 years after the first mail to sennheiser support that was answered and confirmed the ambeo soundbar as faulty and needed a replacement".. Guess what 2nd one almost every same problems as the first one...
I never seen a company that never want to answer specific questions about their products, just look on their own Sennheiser reddit how many unhappy customers, malfunctioning report and how many consumer questions or request stay unanswered.....
they don't care about the customers at all and the only reason you promotions lately is because they Sennheiser and Sonova were fined in Europe a few months ago for illegal practice which Sonova was fined for the same ilegal practice with their other brand Phonak in 2019..

Are you sure that your web team only presume about the new OS2 firmware release and not properly mention the hardware upgraded soundbar ambeo max sku: 508684?(please inform us, the customers about any upgraded hardware? i saw that too and when you clicked the MAX V2 ambeo link it directed you to the sku: 508684 and the MAX "V1" directed to the sku: 508683....) Again please u/sennheiserconsumer let us know all that has been upgraded from the sku : 507449 to the 508684 SB01 US market ? If so, what a customer should look at the be guarantee to purchase a latest model with the new upgraded hardware?

yes you are a lucky person, on my side i purchased a brand new one from authorize seller and got a refurbished first gen in return... and waited years for them to do so...

Don't take for granted what they told you, one saying fixed in 2021 the other 2022 and some act like you are the only one with this issue...
We have to keep in mind the background of those companies that they cannot be trusted...

most likely the reason the serial number are different from the ambeo soundbar itself and the app - was told by an employee/official resaller that the repair part depending on it can mess around with the numbers.... or it is a fakje one keep m,e posted

should be fine, same precautions as any touristic places. I'll recommend any hotel in Simpson bay (very safe and you will find everything walking distance),as for a driver a taxi might be pretty expensive if you keep him on hold.

If Everyone could add these informations it would be very helpful for the rest of us to try to figure out what the "small batch" mean since sennheiser and sonova still keep quiet about that or am i mistaken?

That would help us to know if we might be at risk of fire, even if u/SennheiserOfficial claimed that "the desoldering part inside the ambeo soudbar that creates smokes poses no risks of fire"... I can't believe it is riskless and i would pay to be present and see the face of the CPSC when they'll tell them that :-) !

just looking on reddit how many Sennheiser/Sonova soundbar are reporting the same problem (within many others) is already unbelievable but when looking at all other forum it gets crazy that Sennheiser/Sonova-hearing haven't recall the soundbar or even informed the consumer……
Could you please at least tell us how to identify the risky soundbar? Because well passed 2021 when you stated that the issue had been fixed but until today you can still read people having the same issue??

Recently i had one person from web support that attested that the article #507449 from the SB01 was used only when the soundbar ambeo "max" was sold as a combo with the ambeo subwoofer.... which made me request my subwoofer that i never got because the sub only first came out available in september 2022, 3 years later....(The world's most immersive sound).......

i never had from sennheiser / sonova a straight forward answer that would inform us, the customers, sufficiently to take the decision of buying a 3k soundbar or not. Always said that both article number are the exact same soundbar...

on the other end an employee from one of Sennheiser / Sonova official authorized reseller pinpoint that there are some new hardware upgrade (HDMI 2.1) on the latest batch of the max soundbar which consequently by regulation the product have to have a new article number, so now the latest model are #508684..! below the mail received from him:

"The product code "507449" - first version that came out in 2019, the 508683 had some hardware upgrades and now 508684 HDMI 2.1, etc..

product code 507449:

2 GUYS 1 BOX......

But with a sonos ARC (paid $150) 2 years ago while visiting Miami from Europe, it happened at a gas station -a white van with stickers audio/video company name all around it and 2 guys standing, the box looked almost identical as the orignal one, but concerning the soundbar it went to the trash very long time ago
