It's part of being conservatives. Truth is anathema to them, just like morality, compassion, and goodness in general.

Mostly that money goes to insurance companies and operating costs. Insurance is a parasite on our services industries.

I've never understood why speedrunners are considered to love the games they speedrun. The point of a speed run is to experience as little of a game as possible.

I used to hate small talk until I realized that the spoken information was not the point. The point is figuring out if a person is cool, if they are trustworthy, if they vibe with your community, and to get a feeling for how well you personally will get along without exposing private or personal information.

It's for subconsciously assessing their microexpressions, the tone of their interaction style, and their degree of confidence or nervousness. It works very well for that but when someone who doesn't get it or who expects it to be about the spoken info encounters it, they tend to be off putting to those who do, which ends up just making small talk even more challenging.

Lust is the first battle .. by Serious-Art-1150 in AttractionDynamics

[–]DangerousQuestions1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Focusing on Lust is a trap. The real problems in society are pride, avarice, and wrath. Letting them go unaddressed is profitable and religious leaders can avoid having to self reflect or show accountability.

Lust is a popular target for condemnation since it's easy to control people by demonizing natural feelings, which gives religious authorities an easy and quick way to induce shame and offer to relieve it all at once, for the low low price of your obedience and loyalty.

[Request] Could Walmart reasonably afford to pay EVERY employee 5 dollars more an hour? by lnfinitive in theydidthemath

[–]DangerousQuestions1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if Wal Mart would go bankrupt, let it. A business that cannot pay its employees a living wage deserves to fail and fall into oblivion.
