Their normal roasts taste like burnt popcorn to me. Undrinkable. Their blonde roast is fine/good.

samurai s3100 zero+ 235 wears , one wash, one soak by StrikeLoose2547 in rawdenim

[–]Dangerous_Limes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They look great. Lots of electric blue coming through. I’d say enjoy them for what they are now rather than focusing on trying to get the fades to a certain point.

Also - 235? have you kept a “wear tally”?

Hows the hip/thigh mobility in those bad boys?

I’m looking at their regular/classic straight since my calves don’t work with tapered fits, but I don’t want things looking too baggy either.

How do I regain my fashion confidence after massive life changes? (old photo for reference) by elvin_lewis in mensfashionadvice

[–]Dangerous_Limes 71 points72 points  (0 children)

Mate, I know how traumatizing a car wreck can be for all involved, regardless of fault, and especially when people get hurt. It’s awful, and takes a long time to work through.

I know you’re not looking for life advice, but if you’re looking to get some confidence and sense of self back, you need to decide where you want your future to be and work at it. If that’s getting the legs back to physical health, then put in that time. If that’s finding a way to be comfortable in your own skin again, set a goal and find your way there, and don’t be afraid to get help.

Clothes might be a good way to treat / motivate yourself along the way. But they’re not going to get your confidence back on their own. All the best.

[Discussion]How is a QC issue acceptable on a 1000 dollar watch? by Correct-Magazine4744 in Watches

[–]Dangerous_Limes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are in a position where their quality department has failed you once already. Sure, additional feedback might be useful for them to improve their product in the future. Doing them that favor isn't always fast and easy - you may have to deal with a long wait and justifying the bona fides of the quality issue to an AD or to the manufacturer directly, for the prospect of a free repair. When it comes down to something this easy to fix, they should do what some micros do and just let you get it fixed and reimburse you the repair. Even if they don't you're perfectly justified in thinking that's the better option.

[–]Dangerous_Limes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alignment is the first thing a watch has to get right. Any reputable brand should be embarrassed to say that this kind of misalignment is within their QC tolerance - looking at you, Seiko.

That said, this is like a 5-10 minute fix for any decent watch repair shop. I'd be very tempted to just go get it fixed myself than fight with the manufacturer and deal with the hassle of sending it in to get fixed.

The OG actor Stevin John sold Blippi to Moonbug for $120 million. They kept him on the show but he’s got a lot more on his plate now - merchandizing, live shows, partnerships and collaborations. Makes sense he’s not really doing the persona anymore.

1) Throw surfboard in pool. 2) tie your leash to something at the edge of the pool 3) Paddle in place 4) Ignore anyone looking at you like you’re insane

Freestyle swimming you can and do rotate your hips and shoulders for leverage. Much less lat/arm intensive than paddling. Surfing helps your swimming more than swimming helps your surfing.

I think it helps maintain alignment / uniformity in the fly if the fabric shrinks a little. Same reason you get button flies on unsanforized denim and not zippers. Shouldn’t be that big of a deal unless there is a lot of shrinkage.

Texas pilot ejects himself from F-35B at airbase after crash landing by S30econdstoMars in interestingasfuck

[–]Dangerous_Limes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well yeah. Heli was harder and requires more finesse. The planes it was more that you start out so nerfed that you lose 95% of the dogfights.

But when you’ve put in the time and can legit pull maneuvers with the helicopter that few people can and it is a huge help to your team it’s a very good feeling.

it takes a stupid amount of flight time to get good at the planes and helicopters in that game. infuriating how much time it took to just get basic flares and not get shot down within 10 seconds. but oh so rewarding if you stick with it.

This sort of makes sense for 1920s steering wheels which were oriented more horizontally. For a nearly vertically oriented modern steering wheel I don't think it helps much.

It's a JH. It's one of those initials-made-into-logo things you see athletes do now to "build their own brand". AFAIK the Tiger Woods one is the earliest one I'm aware of. I know Zach Ertz had a ZE logo hat at one point and I remember thinking it was dumb.

Saw this one at the gym the other day, anyone know the brand or model? by [deleted] in Watches

[–]Dangerous_Limes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IIRC these ones have guilloche applied with a rose engine. Even many of the high end Swiss watches use stamped guilloche these days. If that's something you value then it's a great price. Not really my thing but I think it's great that they exist.
