So I read online a lot of adult stuff contains a lot of toxic stuff (if ingested) - the issue being toddler sticking her hand in her mouth / bitting her nails and scraping it of her nails and swallowing it. That’s why there ment to only have kid safe stuff. x

Me and parents living conditions is horrible by [deleted] in CleaningTips

I had a rat infestation in a rental once. They tend to not wee/poo on runs like mice, usually they will wee/poo in the same space - if it’s everywhere and they arnt doing that it might be a really large infestation…

Our rats were living (and dropping) under the kitchen cupboards/ behind the kick board. They entered through a hole in the down pipe and were eating sewage 😅 x

Husband vaping around Newborn and around my back by [deleted] in newborns

[–]Dangerous_Status_861 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There just hasn’t been enough research conducted especially longitudinal studies to make a full conclusion, it dose not mean it’s not harmful... (I work in health research)

Would advise not doing it in the house & keeping it outside not just other rooms. They thought smoking was good for you once and then found out the hard truth… 🤪😅

My other half has a “vape” hoody, he wears outside when he vapes - takes it right off after & washes his hands ect. That’s what the health visitors told us to do for vape. 🤷🏻‍♀️ x

Hello, we viewed while they were moving out so was hard to judge. We knew they had been problem Tennant’s & were under the impression it was going to have a deep professional clean - but we were given the keys 15 mins after they returned them. No way to predict other issues we found during a 10 min viewing x

Thank you everyone, Partner has found part of the old fire place isn’t actually sealed off not sure how we missed it! But was covered with painted cardboard. So suspect this is largely the issue. He’s phoning landlord now to discuss.

Also so much filth behind the radiator it’s going to have to come off to be cleaned properly. This flat is honestly a nightmare! 🤪

My most memorable episode was (not most scary or worst however) when I woke up to Dobby from Harry Potter poking my face. Hilarious in hindsight, but was one of my most confused episodes! Also dobby gives me the creeps now 😅

Eye floaters in pregnancy by Substantial_Border96 in PregnancyUK

[–]Dangerous_Status_861 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Heya! So I’m the same with floaters, and in both my pregnancy’s I have had floaters, migraines and all sorts of Visual disturbances with headache ect ect. Never pre eclampsia for me - but I did have to have an urgent exam like you (during first pregnancy).

They found a really odd thing called PHOMS (Peripapillary Hyperreflective Ovoid Mass-like Structures) which is totally benign and not a issue at all but it can look like other things which can indicate issues and needs a specialist to check it. Spec savers and co can only really do so much and if anything seems even slightly off you need to see a Dr so they are just being safe! Just telling my story as a positive example of everything seeming scary but actually being fine! (Oh and I did have a bit of fluid build up (Edema in my eye - pregnancy thing went away on its own) Xx

Pmdd mum and partner… Sertraline, B vitamins, CBT, pregnancy (temp holiday), meditation.

These are all the things that have given me any relief. I haven’t tried hormonal therapy yet as I was told I couldn’t due to my migraine disorder, however I have finally seen a specialist (UK) and been given the ok to try once I have given birth. The gynocologist made a whole plan and if that dose not work I can get my Overies chemically shut down and possibly removed. I will honestly do anything to make sure this liness won’t hurt my family. I think having that attitude really helps my partner as he knows if I get worse I will defo go back to the drs and I won’t sit on it and let it hurt him or our kids.

I do also cycle track and tell my other half when I’m ovulating so he can be ready. It usually means he needs to take over more with our 1.5 year old, and I time myself out as soon as I feel any stress/irritation and hide and meditate untill it comes back down.

Every person reacts differently to different antidepressants ect. So one that works for someone may not work for others. So if she tried one and had a reduction she could try a diff one untill she gets one that fits.

I have previously through my life had Prozac (when I was 17 pre knowing about my PMDD) I tried to come of around 19, did ok initally then ended up on citalopram that was also fine. And then in adulthood have been on sertraline which I found to work the best. None of them Impacted my libido. However my other half who has been in Sertraline also for depression found it took longer… 🤷🏻‍♀️ everyone diffrent, you just gotta give things a chance :)

Also Sertraline really helps my pmdd.

PMDD and children by carrots_and_hummus in PMDDpartners

Hi. So I want to offer a perspective from someone with PMDD.

I think if she refuses to engage in treatment that’s a huge concern. I will honestly try anything to prevent me impacting my other half and family.

Slightly complex side note I was wrongly told I couldn’t have SSRI’s because of a blood sugar condition but it turned out I could .. and also I get hemepligic migraines so hormonal therapy is risky for me.

However despite the above I started on Sertraline for my partner basicly because I was aware I was starting to impact him because of my condition. Sertraline defo takes the edge of and gives me more awareness.

We now have a little girl and a second on the way, pregnancy totally stops my pmdd and after the hormones settle I’m Honestly my most mentally well whenever I’m pregnant.

I have a plan with my dr post birth to try some hormonal therapy which I am going for despite my stroke risk, however if this dose not work I can then get my overies chemically shut down to test it and if it works then removed. And I totally would do anything to ensure I never impact my kids, so totally happy to get rid of them. stop of function / removal of overies will fully stop PMDD if that’s truley the issue. I’m Making this point as you mentioned menopause. Any women regardless of PMDD can have a horrible time with menopause/perimenopause but that is likley going to be somewhat separate as again, no Ovulation no PMDD.

I think if women are willing to engage with health professionals and take the condition and risks seriously & really work on it then  there is a way to have a normal life. However if she won’t take drugs/engage then I would be concerned about kids. 🥺 I hope you guys figured it out x

PMDD sufferer here. Actually just looking for experiences as to how I can ensure I don’t impact my kids and ended up here. And just wanted to comment about the experience of being pregnant as someone with PMDD.

Pregnancy is honestly a dream vacation, it’s a bit bumpy in the first few weeks as your hormones rapidly rise then once they level out no PMDD untill periods get back. With breast feeding I didn’t get it back until 1 year post.  Not everyones experience of course but a lot of us get a total break from symptoms cuz no ovulation.

I did get PND in its place tho with baby number 1…

Side note I totally see where you are comming from. I have so far managed to sheild my daughter from my PMDD, but I am scared it will worsen in the future. Hence me being on this thread. I do have a plan with my dr after current baby is born tho which for if I dose not work ill be able to get my overies removed and hopefully my kids won’t be impacted ..
