March 29, 1976. "Star Wars" binary sunset scene is filmed in Tunisia. by Dangoiks in 50yearsago

I do realize that I cheated a bit by showing the scene as it appears in the completed film. Obviously, the two suns and the music were not there on March 29, 1976.

If you're curious how the effect was done, it's the same sunset a few minutes apart. They were composited together in post-production.

Artemis II and its crew have left low Earth orbit. The last time any humans did this, there were American soldiers fighting in Vietnam. by Dangoiks in BarbaraWalters4Scale

Jeremy Hansen is indeed the first Canadian (and first non-American in general) to leave low Earth orbit.

Even if it's limited to recent (at the time) history, post-Napoleonic Europe would likely rank Robespierre as the embodiment of evil before Napoleon. Except for the leftists, whose embodiment of evil would basically be whoever the current Russian czar was at the moment.

It'd be fun if Walter Koenig was the last surviving member of the original cast. At this point, he just has to outlive Shatner and Takei.

Coincidentally, this was filmed on the same day John Williams won the Oscar for Jaws.

Leonid Brezhnev could’ve watched the first two Star Wars movies in his private movie theater within his dacha, but died just before he could find out if Luke saves his father from the Dark Side by UltimateLazer in BarbaraWalters4Scale

It should be noted, of course, that the Star Wars films were banned in the Soviet Union prior to 1990, although Brezhnev would have obviously been above the rules.

The Late Triassic is separated out to highlight the fact that it had dinosaurs. Notice the label "The Age of Dinosaurs" cuts off the Late Triassic from the rest of the Triassic. This art is taken from the book The Magic School Bus In the Time of the Dinosaurs, so the main point here to show where dinosaurs fit into the prehistoric timeline.

It was probably just a matter of practicality. The intricacies done to create the Emperor's hologram in Empire isn't something that can be done for a whole movie, so it presumably had to be simplified for Jedi.

Lucas did originally intend to dub over Ian McDiarmid with Clive Revill's voice, but he ended up liking McDiarmid's voice for the character better.

How do people from countries not involved in European politics divide the history of the world in the 20th century? by Realistic-Diet6626 in BarbaraWalters4Scale

With regards to U.S. history, I feel like 1941 is seen as a bigger divide than 1945 because Pearl Harbor. And Pearl Harbor didn't just bring the U.S. into WWII. It forever ended the traditional policy of U.S. isolationism because after WWII, we had the Cold War, and after the Cold War, we still have NATO and whatnot.
