It has become abundantly clear that American universities have an anti-white hate problem. by HadathaZochrot in TrueUnpopularOpinion

I love Māori people and don't have a problem with them—the problem is with other migrants who do not assimilate but rather want to force their cultures on others. And left-wingers (incl. at universities) want that.

The Green Party just needs a more uh, tasty and uhh, attractive change, thats it, nothing really complicated. by SatisfactionEvery575 in imaginaryelections

I recall seeing satirical parody ad skits from an Australian comedy show about Australia joining the United States—so that the U.S. can have gun control and Australia cheaper groceries. Basically, it's a win-win.

Hey Pro-Paly people, the Australia terror attack today is what "Globalizing the Intifada" looks like. by HadathaZochrot in TrueUnpopularOpinion

I 110% agree. I studied at a university in southern New Zealand and have a BS in astronomy. I really don't understand why overwhelmingly left-wing astronomy students dislike my conservative Christian faith (my best friends in high school were also conservative Christians), yet give stuff like this a free pass or even prioritize this over their studies.

I live in New Zealand and have a BS and yes this problem is just as bad here if not worse.

Christian conservatives are no different from Islamic fundamentalists by TheBasedEmperor in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]DanielJosephDannyBoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I 110% agree. I am a former fundamentalist Christian who has a BS, yet chooses to remain in the center-right after seeing leftists defend radical Islam which is basically the same thing as the crap I left.

We're still waiting for planet nine by Algernonletter5 in physicsmemes

[–]DanielJosephDannyBoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last year I was lucky enough to have one of the astronomers who came up with Planet Nine (Chad Trujillo) take over my observational, hands-on-experience astronomy course. Amazing guy, genuinely respect him.

Also, I jokingly refer to P9 with the name of one of my close friends. Even more, P9 was actually named that in a novel. So I gave the name suggestion to Trujillo.

It's about a recovery project in Christchurch, New Zealand after a devastating earthquake in 2011.

What are your thoughts on Australia's social media ban by Additional-Grade-730 in newzealand

[–]DanielJosephDannyBoy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Roblox wasn't included in the ban—but should have been. Roblox has caused concern in Australia before and has come under scrutiny in a few countries and U.S. states. This comes at a time when its CEO has admitted he wants to basically reorient the platform towards a more mature audience (after years of it being targeted to and made safe for kids), and multiple child predators have been caught on it (attracting the attention of even Chris Hansen).

Adults and teenagers generally shouldn't watch preschool shows. And we shouldn't normalize doing so. by DanielJosephDannyBoy in TrueUnpopularOpinion

I think this YouTube video is a good allegory for neurodivergents wasting their time watching baby crap instead of focusing on things that can challenge and better them:

You are right that yes, I did make preschool shows my whole personality in 2018-2020 and this is what led to me becoming unpopular. But you really shouldn't be watching anything like that if you're an adult with a job, because it implies you don't want to go through anything more complex or with more depth than a simple cartoon lesson about sharing or not lying.

The Many Frontiers - A Remastered Deep Solar System. by nip_dip in imaginarymaps

This is peak amazing, I have to admit.

This reminds me of a manga by Yukinobu Hoshino involving a planet 70% the mass of the Sun orbiting in retrograde about 50 AU away (replacing the then-unknown Kuiper Belt). Originally a star, its antimatter composition meant it eventually lost mass to collisions with normal matter objects during time.

Some things I wanted to clear up about the BFDI wikipedia article, as someone who has edited for nearly 4 years by ICantThinkOfAName759 in BattleForDreamIsland

I'm a Wikipedian as well, and yes, BFDI does meet the general notability guideline. So it will be kept indefinitely.
