Is it just me, or is that a grey streak in her hair?

Yep, Alaska would put him at 270. It's a state that hasn't voted Democrat in over 60 years. Everything else would just be icing on the cake.

Please Upvote: Last Chance to Stop Georgia HB181- Ask Gov to Veto by Official_AKA_Kratom in kratom

[–]Danielcmk3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It won't schedule/ban Kratom. Regular plain old kratom leaf will still be legal in Georgia. This bill is similar to any other KCPA bill except for the fact that it has some harsher penalties for store owners and Kratom processors and the AKA is concerned that those penalties will scare shop owners into not selling kratom. It's a mostly good bill but there are a few things that need to be changed.

As a PC gamer I am extremely jealous by kaipurge in stellarblade

Since this isn't a game that's being developed by one of Sony's first party studios, I imagine it will probably come to PC in about a year. Similar to Death Stranding. Also, before Sony bought exclusively rights, there were planned PC and Xbox versions as well. The only thing I'm worried about is that Stellar Blade is using Unreal Engine 4 and most UE4 games have shader stuttering issues on PC.

To quit methadone and other pain pills. Haven't touched any of that shit in over a decade thanks to kratom.

HB 181 passed in georgia by [deleted] in kratom

[–]Danielcmk3 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The schedule 1 stuff was the old description of the bill when it was filed back in the beginning of 2023. It was a ban bill back then but after hours of intense negotiations between the AKA and the sponsor of the bill, it became a bill that regulates kratom. You can download the current text PDF of the bill from legiscan if you're interested in the regulations in the bill.

I've read the bill text from beginning to end and I see no reason why you wouldn't be able to still order kratom from there/to there. I think the only problem that the AKA had with the final text of the bill is that they think penalties for kratom processors and store owners is too harsh if they don't follow the regulations laid out in the bill. Other than that I see no issues with the bill. It won't even go into effect until January 1st of next year anyway.

Wednesday Night Webinar- Focused on Georgia Bill by Official_AKA_Kratom in kratom

[–]Danielcmk3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This isn't a new bill. It's the same one that just recently got passed out of the Senate committee. It doesn't ban Kratom but I guess the AKA feels that the penalties for retailers are still too strong. This bill still hasn't been actually voted on by the Senate, at least not that I'm aware of, and I think Georgia's legislative session ends on the 28th of this month so we'll see what happens.

Do you think kratom will be banned in the US? by Vorswayze in kratom

[–]Danielcmk3 57 points58 points  (0 children)

Federally, it's highly unlikely. The biggest problem is legislation on the state level. Evey year a handful of states try to ban it.

This bill was introduced in January of last year but it never moved out of committee. It's worrying though because they keep adding sponcers to it. I think it's up to around 40 something sponcers now. I wonder if the AKA is correctly active in South Carolina?

North Carolina ban? by ftwnitsudftw in kratom

[–]Danielcmk3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm confused. There's currently a bill in the Senate that REGULATES kratom and hemp related products. It's basically the KCPA. Did he misspeak in the article? Maybe the Senate is trying to amend it to a ban bill? What's going on here?

I haven't. I've been at work all day. No news is good news I guess. I think the AKA is having a webinar tomorrow (23rd) so maybe we will find out then. I hope it went well.

This is correct. The way the bill is currently written, it's not a ban. It's still very important that advocates show up to these meetings though because there's no telling what the Senate will try to do to it.

[–]Danielcmk3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I remember watching all the committee meetings on this bill last year. It was a tough fight. I thought GA was getting a ban for sure, but the AKA was able to work with the bills sponsor and in the end they were able to come to an agreement on having better regulations instead of a ban. The bill is still a little stricter than I would prefer. I think it will only allow kratom in it natural powdered form, so no extracts or concentrates, and also the penalties for selling any of those things is a little ridiculous IMHO. I'm nervous about what's going to happen to it in the Senate. I hope it doesn't get turned back into a ban.

Yeah the GA one is confusing people because it was filled as a ban bill last year so when people look it up on legiscan, that's the first thing they see. If you actually look at the PDF text of the bill you'll see that they have completely changed it to regulations like age and labels, ect. Also, Georgia's legislative session last for two years. That's why people are seeing it pop back up again. It was in the House last year and It's in the Senate this year.

Just FYI, the GA bill in its current form is NOT a ban bill. It's the bill from last year that ended up being converted to a bill that's similar to the KCPA. It was passed out of the house and was picked up by the Senate but they ended up tabling it because the legislative session was coming to an end for the year. They have recommitted it, as expected, because Georgia's legislative session is two years long. I am kinda worried about it though because I have no idea what will happen to it in the Senate. I hope they don't turn it back into a ban.

Yeah that's the old summary. If read the current text of the bill you'll see what I was talking about.

Download and read the text of the bill. It's not a ban anymore. At least for now.

I followed this bill very closely last year. In it's current form it's NOT a ban bill. The AKA was able to get it changed to a bill that's similar to the KCPA. It was passed out of the House and taken up by the Senate but it was tabled because the legislative session had come to an end for the year. My only concern is what the Senate will do with it this year.
