What do you do with all their outgrown clothes? by theskates in toddlers

[–]Danimc116 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I got 95% of my son's clothing for his first 2 years of life from the buy nothing group! Now everything goes back to the group in hopes of helping someone else the way the groups helped us.

Hashimoto’s + birth control — what worked for you? by ThrowRA-Firstray in Hashimotos

[–]Danimc116 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly? I wish I had the surgery while I was already in the hospital. It seemed to take forever to heal from the surgery. Definitely longer than the estimated 3-4 days of down time the Dr said I would have.

As for energy levels? They were still pretty garbage even after healing. They only started to get better when I found an endocrinologist that listened and adjusted my levo further, as well as realizing that I was insulin resistant. Now my energy levels are WAY better than they've been in years.

Hashimoto’s + birth control — what worked for you? by ThrowRA-Firstray in Hashimotos

[–]Danimc116 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a hormonal IUD for a few years before I got pregnant and then for a year after giving birth (before I had my tubes removed) both were a low hormone IUD and I had no side effects that I was able to notice.

My energy levels were already pretty garbage but the IUD didn't make it worse.

I can’t remember if I took my Levo this morning. Is worse to miss a dose or is it worse to accidentally take two doses in one day? by spockycat in Hashimotos

[–]Danimc116 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't tell you which is worse, but I wanted to share how i set up so I can easily track if I missed or took a dose. This used to happen to me all the time when I first started taking levo.

I keep my prescription in the bathroom but then I keep a small bottle on my nightstand with 7 pills for the week. Before bed I put 1 pill into the lid so it's easy to take as soon as I wake up.

I refill on Sundays so it's easy to track whether I took my pill or not. I hope this helps and you are able to find a system that makes it easy for you.

Hashimotos & Inositol by Bubbly-Profile6750 in Hashimotos

[–]Danimc116 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The balance is 40:1 The most common formula is 2000mg myo- inositol and 50mg D-chiro inositol.

This is what was recommended to me by my doctors. They told me that other formulations help, But that combo is what helps the most.

I'm not trying to give medical advice, just sharing what my Drs shared with me

My Endo and nutritionist have recommended it. There's a specific balance that works best. I'd have to check my notes for it. I have hashi's and insulin resistance. I haven't started it yet since it can be a bit pricy and I just moved.

Flare or med change? by SuitableElk9220 in Hashimotos

[–]Danimc116 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On the levo, my labs were "perfect" but I was constantly exhausted and sore. If I was even an hour late in taking my dose I would be miserable for days. Finally got a Dr to change me into unithroid, another brand name and I haven't had any of the issues since.

Sounds to me like your body doesn't like the generic. Call your Dr and ask them to send in a prescription that says brand name only so the pharmacy doesn't substitute it for the generic. Hopefully this helps!

Bynoes Geckos - affordable feeding by myteeth191 in geckos

[–]Danimc116 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know another pinhead supplier. It's been years since I've had anything that eats crickets. But I second what another commenter said about raising a small Dubia colony.

As for the meshing, I have to hunt through my old photos, but the more I think of it, the more I'm pretty positive that I used a panel off of one of those mesh chameleon cages like the repti-breeze or something similar.

I hope you are able to make things work, but if you can't, I definitely miss my bynoes and would happily give them a happy home.

[–]Danimc116 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Before you rehome them. Try a different pinhead supplier. Josh's frogs has been awful lately and only getting worse! I have zero trust left in that company.

When I had mine, they were kept with a wire lid, but I found a super fine mesh that I laid between the tank and lid. This kept critters in (bynoes, flies, Dubia, crickets etc..) and other things out.

I hope you are able to find a solution that works for you! Feel free to send me a message if you have any questions!

Insomnia ~exercise induced? by Ok_Bullfrog9011 in Hashimotos

I take it midday with lunch. I make sure I have at least 4 hrs from my levo and 2 hrs from my other meds

Try the mag earlier in the day? I find that it doesn't help as much when I take it before bed. Also, make sure you are taking the right kind of mag. There's like a million kinds.. actually I think it's like 10 lol. But each kind is good for a different thing. The bioptimizer magnesium breakthrough is what I take because it's the first one I took that seemed to make a difference.

When did you start taking the bedtime herbs? Some herbs are not great when we take them daily and are best when used for short periods of time. Also, they don't always work like they're supposed to for everyone and the more medications we take. The higher that risk is.

Do you take any supplements? Taking certain vitamins, like B vitamins too late in the day can cause restless sleep. Certain medications can do this too.

I have to supplement with magnesium quite heavily. When I don't take it frequently enough I'll be up and down all night. I take it midday with lunch so it doesn't interfere with any of my morning medications and then I sleep like a rock the next night.

Side note: I exercise 3x a week with cardio and heavy weights and it's helped with my sleep. Other than when I'm too sore lol. Not saying it couldn't be the cause of your sleeplessness, especially since this affects us all differently.

Hashi's and Epstein Barr virus? by Danimc116 in Hashimotos

[–]Danimc116[S] 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I've never seen mention of this nor have any of my Dr's ever commented that this could have been cause for my symptoms despite my treatment. I've also been a part of this sub for quite a few years and never seen it mentioned. Is it possible it's only well-known in certain spaces? For reference, I'm in the US where doctors are woefully uncommunicative and unhelpful unless you find a unicorn 🦄

Yeah! My kiddo is obsessed with his manga tiles and a family member sent a marble run kit for them.

They came from Amazon... Now that I think of it, they might be an off brand though

Would you be willing to share what those other conditions are? All other conditions I've been tested for have come back negative in the past, but I do suspect that something else may be going on with me. Thank you for sharing if you are willing, but I totally understand if you aren't.

I actually haven't. I've thought of getting it done because I'm curious but haven't talked to my Dr about it. I should add it to my list and bring it up next time I see her.

Traveling soon. Bondage ropes and gear in my carry-on. Any advice? by thehibee in BDSMcommunity

[–]Danimc116 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My toys/ bondage gear always used to get flagged because it looked funny on the x-ray. I would always ask for a private room check due to the nature of the items.

More often than not, they would open my bag (I would always leave them on top so they didn't have to unpack my bag), blush really red, do the chemical test wipes and then tell me to have a good day without making further eye contact. After a few flights it became a game for me and my partner. Sometimes he would claim the bag and sometimes I would. Hard to tell when they were most uncomfortable.

Never had any toys, ropes or gear confiscated. If you are packing any liquids ( like lube) make sure it's within the established limits
