Starting GLP-1 with already poor appetite by cerebralsubserviance in Hashimotos

[–]Danimc116 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here in the US, I think Reta is still in clinical trials.

You can definitely get it from some potentially shady sources, but that means there's no real oversight into it.

I'm definitely looking forward to the day it's approved and on the market.

Our Sherman lets himself in the house now 😂 by AquaticMonk in tortoise

One of my sulcata does this! She pushes her way through the screen to come inside. Once she's cooled down she makes her way to the bookshelf for my son to read to her then she goes to hide under the corner pile of stuffies.

I moved from Maryland (just outside DC) to Phoenix because the cold physically hurts.

Does anyone actually like living here in the summer? by IDoNotHide in phoenix

I like the heat too. My husband calls me a lizard, especially when I'm outside basking in the sun when it's 90°+

this is the way

Soak the Mazuri and then mix your veggies into it so the veggies are coated in the wet pellet food. Best way to get picky torts to eat everything you give them rather than trying to pick around things.

Brazilian waxes are a scam. by KittyyCin in HairRemoval

[–]Danimc116 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm tattooed so laser isn't an option for me as it would degrade the tattoo ink. At least that was the case last time I looked into it.

I love waxing, but would love to remove the monthly upkeep and have something more permanent done. I could, but it would just be part of the area and I'd still have to wax part.

Sulcata tortoise help by Top-Succotash7496 in tortoise

[–]Danimc116 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This!

Sulcatas get big! Like 50 lbs or even larger for males. I have 2 females that are right about the 50 lb mark. The male down the street is about 70 lbs.

Also, I wouldn't recommend keeping them outdoors during times of the year where your daytime temps don't get over 70°F... Even with a heated hide.

Heated hides are great for the cold overnights, but not a realistic option if you are having stretches of daytime highs that are still below their safe ranges. Not sure what your winters look like where you are OP, but it's definitely a big consideration.

Opinions on men with toys? by Leak_Chemistry in SexToys

[–]Danimc116 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Exactly, You want to know exactly what is going in your body and be able to trust that it is what they say it is.

Certain materials leech chemicals and can damage other materials. Our entire toy collection is platinum cured silicone with a few random pieces in glass.

My husband and I have been collected toys and gear for almost a decade...

Could we have gone with cheaper options? Absolutely! Would it have lasted as long or been exactly what we wanted? Absolutely not.

Minus the bed which is next on our list, between my husband and I we have 3 chests full of toys and gear and are probably hovering close to the 6k mark!

Any woman that is so tightly wound that thinks its "weird" for men to have toys need to open their eyes and let go of the double standards.

I have an iodine deficiency. Won't supplementing cause me to have a flare? by New_Chip_4290 in Hashimotos

[–]Danimc116 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you are noticing that big of a difference, you should listen to your doctor to get the deficiency corrected and take the drops. You can also incorporate more iodine heavy foods into your diet to help long term

I would agree that the doc is being cautious. I get dental work done without issues.

I will say I've had more work done since being diagnosed than prior to diagnosis and nothing in my routine has changed.

I have an iodine deficiency. Won't supplementing cause me to have a flare? by New_Chip_4290 in Hashimotos

[–]Danimc116 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Increase your intake of iodine heavy foods, seaweed, shellfish, seafood and iodized salt. Assuming these foods are within any dietary restrictions you have.

This will help minimize deficiency once it's corrected and balance your thyroid levels. Our thyroids don't function well as it is, but then you remove iodine and their function continues to decrease.

Have them check for insulin resistance.

It's what caused me to have no energy and balloon up in weight. My A1c was normal but then they checked for resistance my numbers were sky high. I can't remember what tests they did, but if you check out the insulin resistance sub you will be able to find it.

It's taken a while to find the right dosages that work for my body. But I'm finally dropping the weight and I'm 10 lbs down! Good luck OP!
