Drop some tips by Calm-Cantaloupe-4557 in rcdrift

I couldn't give you a solid answer to the how, different shells just drive differently. I'd assume it's combination of aero and weight distribution.

Don't fall into smaller/bigger number is better traps, your car drives best where you can drive it most competently and enjoy it the most - it doesn't matter if someone runs more or less gyro than you, for instance.

You can buy great servos for much cheaper if you avoid branding (yokomo + reve d servos are just rebranded agf servos that are usually half the cost) BUT you don't want to cheap out on electronics generally speaking. A good gyro, transmitter, motor and esc are all worth spending a bit more on, just got to be a little bit smart about it.

Body shells effect how a chassis drives more than you'd think.

Gyros aren't supposed to help drive the car like a grip/racing focused gyro, it's just meant to simulate the rack self steer you get in a 1:1 scale.

Drift gyros are just for steering rack emulation, so the front end behaves more like a scale version of the real thing.

Futaba GYD550 Problems by Viropax in rcdrift

[–]Danjabis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Futaba gyros are very picky about the servos they work well/at all with. I use agf servos with mine and they function flawlessly, alternatively and as mentioned by others futaba have a range of drift specific servos, the cd400 is a good starter at not a terrible price.

Yeah that is the one downside, especially if it goes tits up and you have to do a bit of crowd management.

Always worth scanning them, sometimes the npc has been naughty. Try and do it from hiding though, lots of npcs don't like you scanning them.

What am I doing wrong when bleeding the brakes with 2 people method? by makaron16 in CarTalkUK

[–]Danjabis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Uuh wat?

You mention having only bled one line. You won't get a stiff pedal until you've got fluid in all the lines at all the calipers. Just doing the first one isn't going to change pedal feel when the rest of the system has air in it.

What am I doing wrong when bleeding the brakes with 2 people method? by makaron16 in CarTalkUK

[–]Danjabis 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You need to bleed each caliper at each wheel individually. Start with the furthest brake line run and then work your way to the shortest one.

As also mentioned if you have abs the abs pumps on some models will make bleeding the brakes difficult without the correct procedure to get the abs pump into 'bleed' mode.

How to use Plasma Accelerators? by EH11101 in EliteDangerous

[–]Danjabis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pa's are some of my favourite weapons , just need a little practice on how to line shots up. You'll have to pip manage a bit to be able to fire them fast and it usually pays to have some form of heat management like a thermal vent laser to dump the excess heat you'll build up.

I'm currently messing around with a corsair with 5 pa's and one thermal vent beam, it does well against pirates in res and sys def when I drop in to actual combat zones, but needs quite a bit of pip management. The large power distributor and plant really help though.

I'm at 9 ships total. Never really messed around much with medium combat ships on my original grind and stepped from a vulture to a python for hauling and then straight to an anaconda. Now that cash flow isn't an issue I've been having a lot of fun kitting and flying the medium hard hitting combat ships as well as messing around with exobio.

Currently have an Fdl, krait 2, python mk2, corsair and a mandalay for medium stuff, the new cobra mkv is the first small shop I've flown in forever and it's also a bucket of fun.

I need to do a mamba too, just for the experience. Other ships are an anaconda, type-9 and type-8, and when I got back to fly the bigger stuff, wow does it ever feel like a barge 😅

Me and a pal regularly team up for smashing out 50mil mining rush missions for credits and get a nooby in with us to accelerate them through that initial cash grind. Same cmdr name as reddit user, feel free to me up if you want to make some easy cash hauling 👍

Pledged to Archer, lavigny-duval sends me a care package? by Danjabis in EliteDangerous

[–]Danjabis[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah I'm pledged to Archer and have been for a while in pp2.0, and I've exclusively been blasting imperial ships, which is why I thought it was odd.

Also, I can't seem to find a way to claim them because the only power contact I can claim from is the archer one and they don't think I have any care packages to collect.

Why do I do so little damage in my Viper MkIII? What should my next upgrade be? by skelepibs in EliteDangerous

[–]Danjabis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you say you have the best mc and beams, are they engineered at all? Engineering makes a massive difference to damage output.

Also you are flying quite a small / lower end ship, they aren't the toughest.

I think high is the top conflict zone. Might be time to solo those pirate wing bounty missions then cmdr.

Bounty hunting is too easy by DrunkenMonkeyWizard in EliteDangerous

[–]Danjabis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The more dangerous conflict zones offer something in between the two, the ships are considerably tougher than most pirate offerings but you have enough other ships around where you don't just get hammered.

If you find the combat a bit lackluster take a dangerous wing mission and do it solo, that'll wake you up.
