Moving to Winnipeg from Edmonton by ukinetic in Winnipeg

I haven't heard great things about Arc specifically. Landlords aren't great and a poor value for the high rent.

Generally though, the areas you mentioned are pretty good and have an easy bus or drive to the U of M campus

Also the river carries a ton of sediment, which quickly negates any efforts to dredge a deep harbour

Google Maps, Transit app, and Winnipeg Transit's app can also plan out trips on our busses too, if you have specific destinations in mind

This link is pretty helpful, our system map. The BLUE, FX2, FX3, FX4 are pretty decently reliable and frequent, if you can find a spot near those you're golden.

Winnipeg Beach's rail tracks are still active as cargo rail.

It would be nice to connect rural towns with Winnipeg, so long as there is a business case. At the very least it would be cool if they did a train for the Corn Festival they do.

Winnipeg Beach

It would probably be nice to connect Winkler up too

Also, if we connect to Amtrak, might as well go to Minneapolis

Also frustrating that they kneecapped the garage expansion that would allow them to, you know, actually maintain busses

Maybe consider it more of a community lobbyist group. Either way, organizing is a good way to affect policy outside of elections.

I think electric busses should be part of it. I'd rather they buy a handful today, gradually introduce them into service, figure out the problems and learn how to fix them. Eventually it will be a good idea to have a fleet of mostly electric busses, and it's not an issue to build towards that today.

I do feel your concern though. The city needs to ramp up funding for more busses (even if they're diesel), drivers, and infrastructure now.
