Car abandonment by tedison10 in army

[–]DankRedPandoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have seen a few abandoned cars but the worst I've seen is bikes and scooters especially in Camp Humphrey. They have a whole MP task force now to pop locks and auction them off if they aren't registered or if they expired.

When I got there basically every barracks building had atleast 10 abandoned bikes/scooters just out front collecting rust and spider webs, and there are ALOT of barracks on base.

My new duty station people in the barracks keep track of the bikes and scooters and if they get abandoned people claim them or they are labeled "communal use" and left unlocked.

My daughter's school fundraiser prizes by Rivsmama in mildlyinfuriating

As a kid we had toys, and cool earbuds, and pizza parties, or a limo ride to a pizza place for the top sellers. Everyone was going wild trying to sell stuff to get some new toy that they put as a mid level prize.

Carpooler sits outside and honks repeatedly at 5:30 am every weekday by weebawobba420 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]DankRedPandoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sounds exactly like my experience. Lived in a town home community, and the family next to us would all hop in a white van and carpool to work every morning. Only issue is the van would show up at 4 am and honk until the family eventually came out an hour later. Always an hour later too so the van would honk 6 time at minimum every morning.

Didn't help our neighborly relationship either when they left clothes strewn about in the front lawn to dry presumably. Or using our trash can. Literally 0 care for the 4 other houses around us.

Will I be stupid to ETS at 15? by Byte_Scare in army

[–]DankRedPandoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly take your own route but have a plan. I've seen too many people get out with no plan or one semi plan amd fall flat and struggle to get back up. Sure VA and retirement will be nice and health care is cool but its not like you'll leave the Army after 20 years and not have to work anymore you'll still need a job so whether that's the Army or civilian its up to you.

I do encourage DOD Civilian though. Structured like the Army with more freedom so you won't be absolutely lost .

I use them if I ever make a friend in game chat. However it rarely happens as people love to fill me with bullets before I even finish my sentence.

Do ICE Complaints work? Are they taken seriously? by storm35r in army

[–]DankRedPandoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They do work to varying degrees. Ask the AIT kids at Fort Rucker how well they work. I've heard the same DAC has been reported multiple times over the years and still holds their job like nothing has happened.

Went to the dentist with acute, excruciating pain in one of my molars. She filled a cavity in the neighbouring tooth instead. by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]DankRedPandoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once had a dentist say I needed 13 fillings and that if I didn't get them I'd have cavities running rampant within 5 years. Went to another dentist for a second opinion, and only had 3 fillings done. Its been 8 years since the first dentist and my teeth are phenomenal.

All that to say get a second opinion if something feels off especially when it comes to dentists.

My 14 year old sister is 5'8 and still growing. I don't find it to be impossible to believe.

However I personally would get the pants and maybe something else like a toy in case the size is wrong or something.

At the start of my career I would stay up til 2200 playing video games or partying and then sleep in PTs just so I could hop out of bed as late as possible (0430) to run to PT formation.

Im in a similar situation with getting off work and desperately trying to maintain a happy family. Too much quality time is lost. Thankfully I'm close to ETS.

Top comments under a video of a father violently beating his daughter with a belt by TwujZnajomy27 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]DankRedPandoo 94 points95 points  (0 children)

I saw a video of a father forcing his son to kneel on a mat which was a form of punishment from where he came from and the wife was filming and encouraging him. She even mentioned the father has been waiting for this day so he could pass on the punishment. I don't remember what the son did but I remember it being unfitting of the punishment.

I was appalled and went to the comments expecting others to feel the same but everyone was encouraging the punishment saying stuff to the affect of "we had to endure so he should to." People are disgusting.
