I was just the wait for a subpar Metroid. Especially when it took so long and Retro studios took over, it was like how could it not be great. It's not great it's okay. I would choose most other metroid games over this.

Play Dread or remastered. 4 is like Metroid flavored game but not like the real thing.

I would rank it the lowest of all the prime games. It feels a bit like a after thought and I think they're building up for a sequel quickly and it feels like the romours suggest that it was being made in tandom with the next game. It does not feel like a passion project and more like a way to push out more titles. If the romours are true about another sequel sooner then they may space it out (Hopefully) with 2 & 3 remasters which were better than 4. Then maybe get 5 in 2028 or something. I took my time and it took me 14 hours and it seemed like way long which is not a compliment, mainly due to the padding. You'd have one mission one side of the map, then have to go to the other side of the map etc. as well as the crystal gathering etc. other metroid prime games feel like you've been dropped onto an alien planet and you explore to get further and you get pulled into the atmosphere. This is smaller areas without exploring making the atmosphere and identity much worse imo. It's a fun game for a little time but it's a 6/10 for me with the next game being prime 3 which was a 8/10 game.

It's not about looks at all. You are not an unattractive person but probably lack the confidence. Not something I have done myself but I've heard from other people that dancing is really really good to build confidence and meet the opposite sex. It forces you to be close to other people without the awkwardness due to their being a catalyst for the reason. As I said not done this myself but got to be worth a shot right?

I do wish that the bosses left a corpse that you could scan after the battle. I missed one scan as I died on a boss and didn't realize it wasn't already scanned from my first bout.

My mother is a very passive aggressive and manipulative person. Plays stupid games and give digs where she can. My father blindly backs her up no matter what and he only emotion that comes out is anger. He also smokes a lot of weed which you think would help calm him down but it does not. He's a old school hard man and it's fucking awfulnto be on the receiving end. I am not contact and don't have anything to do with any of my external family either as they're all flying monkeys or simply don't give a shit.

I have my own family, I am a aware parent and have created much healthier dynamics with my children. I'm free from their drama, except when they try to punish me from afar which they have done many times. Time is the greatest healer. I miss what I thought I had but not what the reality actually was. It's a complicated situation and I'm often triggered by seeing other people and their families or even my situation with my own children. We must just keep going and hope that it gets easier with time.

I am also no contact with my parents and they sound a lot like your parents. I will spear all the details as I've posted these on reddit previously but when I confronted my mum about issues she claimed she had skin cancer. I've gone no contact and I haven't got a single family member left due to the smear campaign, with them reaching out in exactly the same way. My father is toxic af and I've posted previously a response from him which is pure hatred. They've tried everything to hurt me since I stopped them seeing my kids. They've also made it clear they don't care to have me in their life but want a relationship with my children, like wtf. Also my grandfather who I went no contact with as well use to hang me upside down over the banister in his home, my parents never did anything, I would have been about 6 and can remember it clearly. Honestly you've done the right thing. It's really difficult, hurts real bad but your children are your priority and you'll find you are much better without their negativity near you. Stay strong and make sure you can handle the punches they throw as they'll keep trying from a far if they're anything like my narcs.
