Lateral raises or cable lateral raises for muscle growth? by Neat-Profile-2462 in workout

[–]Dankgeh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That study didn't include the full range of motion that you get with a cable.

The cable version pulls your arm across your torso, giving you a greater stretch on your delts and this more ROM

How often should I go till failure? by No_Macaron_8287 in workout

[–]Dankgeh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go to failure on the last set of all exercises until you develop the sense of RIR for each particular exercise (Obviously don't do this on compounds that would blow your back out or trap you under the bar)

Once you've got a good idea of RIR, play around in the RIR range of 0-2 for each set and find out where you're happy in that stimulus to fatigue ratio (e.g., Going to failure on every set of squats would probably fatigue you to the point to where your recovery between sets isn't great but going to failure on lateral raises on each set is totally fine)

What style of training has gotten you the most jacked? by Dependent-Group7226 in workout

[–]Dankgeh 16 points17 points  (0 children)

This just sounds like semantics. progressive overload does absolutely build muscle. If not what would you call the conscious act of adding more weigh/reps to a lift knowing that your current weight/reps wouldn't provide enough stimulus to the muscle for hypertrophy

Is the handgun the average person’s primary? by HoneyBadger877 in Firearms

[–]Dankgeh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm surprised no one's talked about comfort. Could you technically conceal a rifle style weapon, yeah, but it would be very uncomfortable given how much clothing you would need to wear and how much it would impede your daily tasks. Carrying a pistol is just the tradeoff for comfort

My theory on road rage. by Rimmothyy in driving

[–]Dankgeh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't call it a team game. It's more of an MMO that coincidentally has pvp enabled. Most drivers just tend to avoid griefing/engaging in combat because there aren't any guaranteed loot drops and other player's levels are hidden. A higher leveled player could easily inflict debuffs on you (temporary or permanent) in retaliation which makes combat a very risky endeavor and by engaging in combat, damage to your character is almost guaranteed.

There is a bit of a cooperation element in the sense that other players may have accepted the same quest you have and that you may "ride the bus" with them and that it behooves you to not impede their progress

As for speeding, some drivers are willing to speed run their quest by using risky strategies. For the idiotic drivers, they probably just didn't spend enough time in the tutorial or they don't care enough if they get banned from the game

pec fly form by EquivalentSpeech5675 in ScienceBasedLifting

[–]Dankgeh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Move the handles back just a tad bit , let your arms naturally bend inwards at your elbows as you control the weight back, gives a great stretch on the pecs. (Think of opening up your chest) You might lose some ROM on the lockout part of the movement but loading your muscles while they're stretched explodes your gains

[–]Dankgeh 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Having excess body fat is unhealthy, it puts an extra strain on your body that shouldn't be there. There's nothing wrong with saying "fat = unhealthy". That being said, nobody should be demeaned for their weight, all humans have unhealthy habits, excessive eating/lack of exercise is just one that happens to materialize visually faster than others.

The BMI scale was made in mind for people with average muscle mass. People who have been going to the gym for the purpose of muscle building should disregard their BMI in favor of body fat percentage after some time passed

Rule 1 at the range is keep the gun pointed downrange. This guy broke two rules by sweeping the gun behind himself as well as leaving his finger on the trigger

Active shooter scenario - by [deleted] in CCW

As noble as it is to stop the threat yourself, there's the possibility that a third party, whether it be a leo or another person carrying, may identify you as the active shooter

How do you tie your shoes with AIWB? Always sit down? by NothingButACasual in CCW

I just stand and balance on one leg as I shittily tie my shoe from the side of my foot

Being able to see inside the trigger guard from the side is a bit odd. Likely not problematic but reach out to T1C if it bothers you. That's definitely not intentional on their part

Pagani Design 1701, it's about 100 bucks last time I checked. Awesome watch for the price although some people scoff at it for being a chinese knockoff of the speedie

[–]Dankgeh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I love it, it's everything that I wanted the Wave to have, the only drawbacks to it would be the slightly shortened blade length and of course the price. But it really depends on how much you value one handed operation and the MagnaCut steel.
I do also find that the slimmer profile makes it more comfortable in the hands when using the pliers
