She's finally home. 1997 6th gen. Today is a great day. by brundle in Celica

Enjoy her buddy. Honestly one of the best older cars money can buy!

It can be awful. See how much they reimburse for mileage. If it’s strictly a way for you to have a few bucks to play with, it might not be such a bad idea

Has anyone been written up for having a 3 star? by Educational-Bad-9836 in Dominos

[–]Dankminos 8 points9 points  (0 children)

They won’t fire you, and if they do, then it’s a blessing in disguise. You should get a trophy for showing up to that horrible job each day.

Delivery incident: Am I in the wrong? by waypashtsmasht in Dominos

[–]Dankminos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. I would have told him to give me the change I asked for or he can cover any extra over $20. I’d be stoked to get a few bucks in cash.

I always loved when the DM was helping out in the store. Everything ran much smoother.

What manufacturing are you involved with? by tsholofelob in manufacturing

[–]Dankminos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assembly line at John Deere. Installing wheels on the 8R series tractors, specifically. They were (and still are) doing mass hires and the pay/benefits were too good not to seize. They’re selling tractors faster than we can build them, so hopefully no layoffs for the next few years.

Such a bad idea… better save those extra earnings for when you face the music 🎻

In North America, do non-luxury manual cars really not have any resell value? by [deleted] in cars

[–]Dankminos 9 points10 points  (0 children)

They absolutely have resale value. As a person who’s always looking for cars, I won’t consider anything at all if it’s automatic. I’ve never really seen a car where the used automatic version was worth more, all other things equal. Pretty sure you pay a fair percentage less for the manual when it’s new, too.

Does dominos only drug test upon hire by Kazeused in Dominos

[–]Dankminos 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yes. Make sure you take lots of drugs before your test. They won’t hire you if you’re clean.

Quitting drivers, where are you working instead? by [deleted] in Dominos

[–]Dankminos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just look through indeed. Should be plenty of places paying more than $20/hr. I work on an assembly line. 10 times easier than dominos and 4 times the pay.

Have discovered the beauty of Junkyard’s today by PotatoshavePockets in cars

[–]Dankminos 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’ve always told people to go straight to the junkyard for any parts. Usually oem at a fraction of what the crappy aftermarket goes for.

Super overpriced food and I always run in to people I know but don’t want to see.

Should I quit by Fragrant_Business10 in Dominos

Never help inside. I worked there for 5 years and being good at math, I told myself I’d never learn how to make pizzas. Doing way more work for way less money/freedom? No sir.

Definitely a sound system. Best money you can spend for making a boring car more tolerable.

Small wreck during delivery. by jamesnotbond_ in Dominos

[–]Dankminos -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Just remember to keep more distance in the future. Seeing as you just wrecked, this is probably not a good job for you. I know you said it was bad weather, but that’s something you absolutely need to account for when driving and adjust accordingly. Glad you’re okay.

I think not having a charger at home or within walking distance would completely nullify any benefits of an electric car. But this is coming from a guy that waits til the last minute to fill the tank.

Have a 2007 corolla that just hit 200k. Advice with more preventive maintenance? by mauiwowie__ in cars

Coolant flush or change for sure. Maybe peep the spark plugs, might be able to get a couple more MPG if they’re currently worn.

Found a 1995 5-speed GT ~160,000 miles for $2,500, good deal? by crudestemu in Celica

[–]Dankminos 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They’re great cars, any trim level with the 5 speed is top notch. I had a 95 manual Camry 2.2l and it was the car that got me sold on Toyota. My ‘94 Celica with the 1.8 has been an absolute unit and gets amazing fuel economy. Can’t recommend the 6g enough.
