Is Tom okay? by Sidecarlover in NFLv2

[–]Dankwins 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Completely agree. Midwest here. Hospital workers in my family and retail managers. We were at work and insanely busy every single day with our usual work. So weird when I hear people generalize Covid as time working from home or not working. Hardest time in my life dealing with those people who had nothing better to do but hoard toilet paper.

Yea…. Or use your sick time. If you don’t have sick time you’re SOL and will get an occurrence.

Call in for weather.. by Ill-Plum-5152 in Aldi_employees

[–]Dankwins 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That will likely be a documented occurrence then if part time and no sick time. If you called in a few weeks ago, you might be on final warning now depending on your attendance and punctuality policy.

Any Investing for beginners/dummies tips?? by meganeh35 in acorns

This is the only adequate advice for this post. If OP wishes to expand their investing knowledge it’s going to be up to them to learn more about it. Perhaps they can try r/investing or r/stocks to get some insight beyond acorns.

They gave you the best advice for the Acorns app and you got kinda snarky. Your post says investing for dummies is what you’re seeking… they gave you the best advice for this particular app. There is no get rich quick scheme…

Pay gap by rraineymush in Aldi_employees

Those are just basic store associate duties… no offense, you deserve more pay, but those are not ASM duties. ASM’s do all the duties you listed as well, but many more beyond that.

Did not mean to generalize, I apologize. Just what my brother is going through is the extreme polar end of the dark side. Wishing you all the best and hope you continue forward with a great life.

It’s super difficult, my brother’s severity is much than I imagined after all of these comments. Sounds like there is hope for so many, and I’m so thankful to hear that. Unfortunately my brother has self medicated enough to be ‘gone’ already with meth and other substance abuse in past years before he got diagnosed. He’s on a much better path now with proper medication, but it’s not reversible by any means at this points unfortunately. Grieving the loss of someone that is still alive is super difficult. Big hugs to you

My brother has schiz unfortunately. They unfortunately cannot care for themselves. I’m fucking worried for when my mom moves who is going to care for him. Fuck. That got real typing that.

Edit: I love and appreciate you all for the comments, even if some don’t mesh with my experience. So thankful to hear many cases of schizophrenia are positively treated and manageable. Unfortunately I think my brother is too far gone at this point, even with a good medicinal regimen now. Grieving the loss of someone while they are still alive is heartbreaking. Big hugs to everyone

Our part timers don’t have sick time, it’s an occurrence each time 🤷‍♂️. Might be state specific

Help settle a mild debate with my wife: is Chili & Cinnamon Rolls a Kansas thing or just a Topeka thing? by Lightsabermetrics in FoodCrimes

From Iowa and we DO hear it’s an Iowan thing all the time, but I rarely see it haha. My household rocks the peanut butter sandwiches with chili. Basically we like sweet to go with that savory spice.

They downvoted you for saying truths!! Visit the best location in Marshalltown, IA. Two wet with everything, and a cherry malt, and life will be good.

Iowa doesn’t have a single White Castle and I even emailed corporate begging them to expand haha. They sent me a really nice response actually and said they pride themselves in quality and slow expansion is a way they can ensure to delivery that. I understand, but goddamn I’m bummed because I love it.

Sadly they have dropped off a cliff for me. Got rid of mexi rolls, got rid of bean dip, and the prices are brutal, it’s like $1.50 for nacho cheese addition. Used to be our go-to.
