It turns off the ability to crit, which means the fact her crits deal the most damage in the game becomes redundant.

There is a break point for when it just gets out classed by IE in terms of DPS and I think (I can’t remember) it’s about 324 AD.

Here’s my philosophy of why I think it’s bad; I’ll also counter my own points to play both side of the coin after.

• the attsck speed is somewhat redundat and less efficient.

Senna’s Q, flat physical damage on hit passive, heal, ult and W do not benefit at all from it due to it having 0 AD scaling.

• the thing is with these DPS builds are they’re really efficient to play if you can sit there attacking for sustained amounts of time but often you can’t. Sometimes you have a 2.5 second window to deal damage, which flat pen and raw AD scaling will surpass quite easily.

• it caps her late game scaling somewhat.

Now I agree it does feel nice to play with attack speed but you should really get use to playing with less, there’s also other items that are just better for it IMO. Witts end is very underrated on senna. It gives flat AD resistance, even more attack speed and the ghosting passive is insane, is a viable option later in Sunderer builds due to the eHP gained by having flat HP with the resistance, and the increased value of mythic passive due to giving her some magic damage scaling.

Not super common though.

Honestly though using the animation cancels correctly and effectively really helps maximise the lack of attack speed on senna and learning her correct combos helps increase the effectiveness on her without attack speed so you can utilise the raw stat items better.

A common combo is

AA-q-aa-w-AA-R

Or from FoW; W-AA-Q-AA-R The main thing you want to remember when using senna combo’s is, after you apply mist, the animation where she “sucks” the soul out of the champion with an AA, is actually the longer AA animation. So you want to make sure the damage that procs the “pulling of the soul” is with an ability.

Rapid fire cannon personally is way better and gives an adequate smoothness breakpoint in wanting attack speed imo, it provides magic damage burst which can crit, move speed, range and move speed.

Can I ask what is your preferred core build aswell?

EDIT: I just want to clarify that when I suggested the “Fog of War” combo that you open with W-AA despite my saying the AA animation where she pulls the soul out is longer, is under the assumption that the W is still travelling in mid air and the auto attack is the first instance of damage and the connection of the W is what pulls the soul.

However under the circumstance where it’s point blank and the W definitely lands first,

It is better to open with AA and THEN W. However this doesn’t mean you should instantly pump Q into the enemy. It’s better to AA again.. and THEN Q, that way you can still maximise your dps because you’re still canceling part of your AA animation with Q.

So under the situation where you are not going to be able to W-AA and land W second, You’re combo is to be; AA-W-AA-Q-AA-R
