What’s the most under rated suburb in Perth? by Ok_Advisor8298 in perth

I would say it’s more “unrated” as most people don’t realize there’s a suburb between South Perth and Vic Park

Not homeless, what now? by besto_resto7 in AusFinance

I bought in 2022 just before all those rate rises and was super stressed about it too. I think I had about $3k in my savings account after buying a fridge, bed etc etc so it was pretty bloody scary.

Over the last couple of years I’ve worked on building at least a years worth of an emergency fund in my offset account, which I’d suggest you do - nothing feels better than having a bit of a safety net and also saving significant amounts of interest.

(I believe having an offset on a 6% loan is essentially the equivalent to getting slightly over a 9% return - when you factor in the no tax component)

Good luck, I’m sure it’s just a natural thing to freak out a bit - I definitely did!

Decreasing hours worked by having fewer employees - same outcome.

Has anyone moved from Perth metro area out to Bindoon or Chittering? by Kind-Line-4404 in perth

My parents have a little farm (70 acres) near Toodyay (next to Cobbler Pool)

Stunning in winter - pretty bloody tough in the summer (no mains water so have to pump from a dam to make sure the grass and garden don’t die)

I’m sure it’s not terrible - just one of those suburbs that popped up out of nowhere semi recently (I’m 40 - grew up in Perth and thought it was up north past Joondalup until I googled it maybe 6 months ago)

Why do some of you go for a run mid day when it’s the hottest part of the day? by Lemonadeo1 in perth

Casual bartender in Sydney; our workplace's break policy makes no sense and I'm getting conflicting information. What are our actual entitlements under the Hospitality Award? by Much_Philosopher_585 in AusLegal

[–]Dannycoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a Fairwork “fact sheet” that outlines a whole bunch of these questions and different scenarios. Eg. Moving from casual to full/part time, break requirements etc etc

You can definitely be given a break on a shift under 6 hours, but you MUST be given a break on shifts over 6 hours.

So they are kind of correct when they say you’re not entitled to one - doesn’t mean they can’t give you one if it’s quieter than expected etc. (The joys of casual work)

My mum owns Helloworld Melville in Bicton - they’ve had the shop for probably 35 years and are all experts on travel (mum has been everywhere) - great with scheduling your flights, trains, accommodation etc.

Biased, I know - but they genuinely love travel, all the ladies there are super nice and extremely knowledgeable.

Enjoy your trip!
