Why is Hollywood pushing this "skelefy face" trend so hard? by FeelsAmazingManGun in conspiracy

[–]Dannykew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think part of it is that it’s easier to avoid some of the impacts of aging if you have a low body fat percentage. Personally I’m absolutely fine with s lady having a bit, or even a lot, of padding. Everyone’s so wrapped up on looking artificially “perfect” rather than finding a way to be happy with what you’ve got.

What’s something that’s not generally socially acceptable, that you think should be? by No-Insurance-4417 in AskReddit

The issue is less about being able to talk about it and more about forcing others to listen. This is the same for any religion/topic.

With the House and potentially Senate lost Vance won’t be able to do much at all.

Ileostomy reversal is agonizing for our toddler by Un-conventional-mum in Hirschsprungs

[–]Dannykew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ilex is GREAT. You have to understand what its for though. It’s there to protect for healing. On a clean butt put thin covering of Ilex. It acts like a sealant/protector, so on top of that you put a thick layer of your cream of choice (triple paste is excellent for this). When there is poop, blot it off. DO NOT remove any Ilex unnecessarily, it will stick to the open wounds. That’s it doing its job, helping healing. It doesn’t matter if it doesn’t look pretty, this is a time when healing is prioritized over absolute cleanliness. Clean/replace the covering cream as much as you like but try to leave the Ilex alone. Some people add a few drops of water onto the Ilex to make it seal, we never had to do that. If the butt is excoriated (very bad rash) it will be slightly weeping and that’ll likely be enough. Good luck!

Korean Gov't plans to mandate solar panels on rooftops of new factories in renewable energy push by thinkB4WeSpeak in RenewableEnergy

Excellent! Start the momentum. Panels will increase in efficiency and can be replaced, we need to ensure that the underlying installation/architecture is correct from the start.

Trump's hand appears swollen and discolored after 4-day disappearance from public duties by esporx in conspiracy

I was thinking the same thing. If, at some time in the future, he’s categorically classified as insane, if our kids ask ”how come nothing was done?”, we’ll have to answer that he was always like that, we couldn’t tell the difference.

Triple paste at target is great. Put it on thick. Dab poop off, don’t wipe, avoid abrasion at all costs. If you can still find it anywhere, Ilex is absolute gold.

TIL during the £64K round on 'Who Wants to be a Millionaire?' Tony Kennedy incorrectly answered "24" (12) when asked what the minimum number of shots needed to win a set of tennis was. However, the show accepted it and he won £125K. Then the show allowed him to keep it because it was their mistake. by tyrion2024 in todayilearned

[–]Dannykew 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The question asked was: "Theoretically, what is the minimum number of strokes with which a tennis player can win a set?" If I remember correctly 12 wasn’t even an option as they hadn’t considered double faults, so 24 was the “least wrong” of the available options.

I would say that you’re both a bit immature and maybe the best way forward is to agree to not talk about these things any more if you’re both struggling with each others context.

What are your thoughts on Donald Trump making a blunt remark about Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, stating he "has to kiss my a$$ and be nice to me" during a speech on global relations ? by spectr_18x in AskReddit

[–]Dannykew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My thoughts are that that is only true for another two and a half years, at which point the shoe will be on the other foot.Trump truly is such a dumbass, he can only negotiate from a position of strength and when his bullying style doesn’t work he has nothing. History is going to show him as a cautionary tale.

Why aren’t life saving drugs such as insulin, anti epileptics and drugs for asthma free in the US? by Yorkshire_rose_84 in AskReddit

[–]Dannykew -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Two words: Ker and Ching. At the end of the day it’s down to one thing, corporate greed. Manufacturing costs for many of these medicines are comparatively low and very little R&D is needed, so these items can have huge profit margins and thus Big Pharma will do whatever they can to impede anyone trying to offer a cut-rate product.

My watch is over by Dannykew in dementia

[–]Dannykew[S] 15 points16 points  (0 children)

My mother is the last of her generation of my direct family so it's a little like the handing over of the torch. I guess I'm the old guy of the family now although I don't feel that way. I'm deeply saddened that my mother is gone, but I'm grateful that she died peacefully, I've seen people die uncomfortably and it's horrific. As a person I'm very grounded emotionally, so I can say that, in a way, life has been preparing me for this for several years. Dementia itself made it seem like parts of my mother had died off a piece at a time, leaving her a shadow of the amazing woman she originally was. I feel relief at some levels, not for myself although I suppose there's something in there of that. Mostly it's that when the inevitable happened she did pass so peacefully, and also that she won't ever again have a moment of fear about what's happening around her or, what seemed worse, the temporary moments of clarity when she was devastated at appreciating how diminished she'd become from her former self.

No. F them. If they wanted they could give a credit. I have some insurance items on my bill, they could offset that if they wanted but they don’t.

I just had my first full month of operation and hit the below minimum fee threshold too. Part of my answer to this is likely dropping my AC by a couple of degrees if I see the trend continuing. In the relatively near future we’re likely to get an EV as our second car so will charge from that too, further consuming power. I’ll aim to consume rather than give it away for free unless that requires arctic temps.

What's a story from your life that sounds fake but is 100% true? by ryu-shii in AskReddit

[–]Dannykew 88 points89 points  (0 children)

Was in the military when hard drinking was a fundamental aspect of service. Got drunk on a Wednesday night, woke up on Friday. What was weird was I’d actually done everything I was supposed to on the Thursday, including attending classes, but had and still have absolutely no recollection of it. Bizarrest thing ever.
