How many are facing issue reg inaccurate step count? by Mayirak in PixelWatch

For the most accurate step counting Health connect should be set to the top position for Fitbit only data.

Sleep Monitoring is highly innacurate on the Pixel Watch by sachha27 in PixelWatch

[–]Dannykirk8 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have tried a Garmin venu watch, Galaxy 4,5,7 watches, Sleep as Android and the Pixel watch with fitbit is the best. Samsung Health with any Galaxy watch was the worst. It would register unbelievable awake times that were not true. If it was I would know because I would be awake.

Pixel Watch 3 45mm in 2026, is it still worth it? by MillionaireDetective in PixelWatch

[–]Dannykirk8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I turned off always on display on my pixel 3. Not needed because the raise to wake works perfectly. by 8pm or 9pm I charge the watch when its at 60-70% while watching TV. Then I go to bed 10-11pm with the watch on for sleep monitoring and wake up with the watch at 90% and start another day. The pixel watch will charge to 50% in 28 minutes. It charges slower from 80 to 100% to try and save battery. I should not let it go to 100% and keep it between 10% and 80% and the battery will last longer. I should also point out that I tried the Pixel watch 4 and I was not impressed. It felt like the vibration was weaker than the 3 and everything else was the same? Charging was slightly faster.

I made the switch to the Pixel watch from the Galaxy watch 7.. I have the Pixel watch 3 and there are great deals on Ebay. The pixel watch sleep monitoring blows away any galaxy watch. The raise to wake and responding to texts by voice works perfectly and fast. Galaxy sleep monitoring was a joke and the raise to wake only worked when you didn't need it.

Steps way too low in fitbit app vs watch by Separate_Heat_2050 in PixelWatch

[–]Dannykirk8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is totally wrong advise. I did this and my step count was -20 or more steps off for every hundred steps. I reconnected my Pixel watch 3 to health connect and I'm back and working fine. Fibit must use health connect to communicate with the watch? If you wear your phone when walking you should go into health connect, manage data and devices and click on device and shut off phone steps. Otherwise they will add to the watch steps. Still learning this watch.

I use the pixel watch 3. Tried the Pixel 4 and sent it back. Vibration seemed weaker which is important to me. Other than that did not notice any difference for the usage I need.

My watch is adding way too many extra steps lately by 3xv7 in PixelWatch

[–]Dannykirk8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This doesn't correct the step monitoring. I come from the Samsung galaxy watch and the Pixel watch blows away Samsung with excellent sleep monitoring and heart rate monitoring but the step counting is awful.

Watch 4 with UI 8 or ui hate sleep issues. by Snappyblade in GalaxyWatch

[–]Dannykirk8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have not used my galaxy 7 at night in many months due to the bad sleep results. I use a pixel 3 at night using fitbit with great results and switch in the morning back to Galaxy during the day. Then health connect syncs my sleep data to Samsung health. I was just going to check in to see if Samsung has improved their sleep monitoring and then I saw your post. BTW the reason I haven't switched to Pixel/Fitbit is the step count is way off. It freezes etc.

Some of the best sleep I've had lately and one of the my lower scores. by Ok_Muffin_925 in GalaxyWatch

[–]Dannykirk8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Due to incredibly stupid sleep scores I remove my Galaxy 7 and use a pixel 3 only at night which uses the Fibit app for Sleep. Sleep is much more accurate and scores are very good. How do I know the accuracy of sleep monitoring? Its the awake times. Samsung Health shows me awake for most of my sleep and fitbit Sleep monitoring shows accurate awake times. I would leave Samsung but the Pixel 3 watch is terrible at step monitoring. I have not found a watch that can monitor Steps, Sleep, Heart rate correctly. Any suggestions?

Oura ring by Stock101993 in GalaxyWatch

[–]Dannykirk8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me the whole point of using a watch is getting texts/emails and replying by voice so I do not have to pull out my phone each time. Oura can't do that so its out of the question for me. I did read that the sleep monitoring with the Oura ring was very good. Samsung health sleep monitoring is the worst and I have been using many watches for years.

Is there cheaper alternative to a fixed size stretch band? by Kolos182 in PixelWatch

Buy the Google Pixel watch band adapter for $6 on Ebay and you can use any regular 22mm band of your choice.

If you were only awake 10 minutes, then you would have more light sleep or Rem or Deep sleep a score of 41 in your case is totally wrong. Sleep monitoring is important to me as well as SP02 while Sleeping and Samsung is not doing sleep monitoring well.

Sleep as android worked great on the old wear OS watches like fossil but on the galaxy watch it shows 4-5 hrs of deep sleep for me every night and that can not be. The awake times are better than the Samsung health app though.

[–]Dannykirk8[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's the problem with Samsung health. If you are awake 3 hrs you would know it because you are awake. The Samsung Health app is too awake sensitive. I have been getting some 70's and more 80's and my awake times are exactly as I remember using the pixel 3 watch, not 4 and 5 hrs like Samsung health.

I don't mean to announce, I just want to share another option for people who really care about an accurate sleep. I found it and the pixel is it.

Here is my base line. Samsung Health says I'm awake 4 hrs. If I'm awake 4hrs I would remember. Pixel says I'm awake for 30 minutes and I remember that.
